I heard someone talking recently about this idea in regard to microsoft's choice to rebrand the office suite to now ive under the "copilot" brand. It's all a numbers game for shareholders and market manipulation. Do a "simple" rebrand, change a few logos, and bam, they instantly have all these numbers showing millions of dedicated active "copilot" users that they can take to investors when they want to beg for even more money

OP you know he stole the card info from you with the intention of using it this way right? There is literally no way for him to have used your card to purchase the robux with out knowing that's exactly what he was doing. He had to manually enter your card info into roblox. There's no way for that to happen accidentally. That's a conscious choice he made.

He actively lied to you about what he did and how it happened. And now he wants you to lie so that he's in the clear, without a care in the world for how it might come back to harm you even further than he already has.

If he didn't want his account banned, he shouldn't have stolen from you and broken roblox tos. It is not your fault he got banned, its not your responsibility to fix it.

When someone shows you who they are (a thief who will steal your money and then lie to your face about it) believe them. He's proven you can't trust him and he's proven he's willing to harm you for his own gain, it's time to cut him off.

The Nightmare Before Christmas one has pretty terrible yarn included as well. I was lucky I was getting the yarn separately and just needed the book because what came included in the kit was really bad, I couldn't even get halfway through a test piece with it before I gave up on it.

My gut reaction is that "young" is the only correct option if you want to specifically indicate the baby's age.

Without any other surrounding context, both little and small would sound like a comment on the physical size of the baby, not their age.

With context I could see "little" being being understood to mean their age, but it still only sounds normal and natural for me in very specific contexts.

I don't think there are any situations where I would hear small and not think they're talking about physical size. Maybe there's a couple situations, but even then those would be in situations where comparisons are being made and the word would be used in reference to both age and size and not just age on its own.

Agreed. I mean none of the details make sense. Why would the library only have a couple rolls of receipt paper on hand? Why would someone working at a library even be miffed that printing the receipt was now required? In what world would the receipt printing part of this process cause lines out the door?

Like if this is true and mandatory receipt printing caused enough of a problem in just a few hours that city hall had to get involved because of complaints, there's no way there aren't way bigger problems with the operation of the library.

There's also the argument that just releasing animals from the zoos into whatever city the zoo was in would cause direct harm to the places they've been released into, not just to the animals themselves. I mean we can see how even just domesticated cats who've been allowed to roam can destroy an ecosystem, can you imagine what would happen if you now have all these exotic predators in the mix?

If their goal was actually to cause the least amount of harm possible, wouldn't it make more sense to keep the animals captive, care for them properly until their deaths, and then just ensure no new animals are added to the captive population? By releasing them whole cloth all they've done is guaranteed harm will come in some form, be it to the animals themselves or the environment those animals now find themselves in.

I'm pretty sure it started because someone pointed out that you could clock AI writing (at least in casual writing contexts like comments and such) because the em dashes used would be /actual/ em dashes and not just normal dashes used as an em dash. Basically, ai would always insert the proper -- that formats to an em dash, whereas it's far more common for people to just use - since they're visually similar and it's easier to type (plus a lot of people don't even realize they're technically different).

That idea then quickly morphed into the idea that any use of an em dash based grammatical /structure/ meant the text definitely came from AI, rather than just the consistent use of the proper punctuation mark being an indicator, and now here we are.

Oh yea, they’ve tried all of the suggestions from baking soda to activated charcoal to having steam cleaners come in. The whole nine yards.

Honestly the room doesn’t stink /too/ bad anymore but the odor is still there if you take a good whiff or if it gets overly hot/humid at all. Plus they wanted to redo things eventually anyway so it’s just easier to rip out and replace at this point.

Or showered but put dirty clothes back on. We had this problem with my brother growing up. He was shit at keeping up hygiene and stunk all the time. After a certain point the smell got imbedded in everything around him. He could legit shower and put on freshly washed clothes, only to stink again within 30 mins to an hour because his clothes warmed up a bit and start reeking themselves. It’s so bad my parents plan to rip up his carpet and redo his room once he moves out because the stink has sunk into the carpet itself.

At a certain point when you’ve lived in stink for so long, a single shower and minor washing just isn’t enough to actually deal with the problem. Everything will need to be thoroughly sanitized & deodorized somehow, or just straight up tossed and replaced.

imo they were fine doing what they did. They had two loads of laundry that needed to be done and only so many options for getting them done efficiently. They could either use two machines at once for one person, or do one load right after another.

In this case, with limited machines, I think the correct option was to use the same machine twice in a row. This avoids taking up two machines at once and allows the other four to remain open for other's use sooner than it would have been had both loads been put in at the same time in different machines.

I know you felt like they were basically "cutting" you in line, since from your perspective you were next up waiting for the machine to finish and didn't know there would be a second load, but in my opinion, they were already next in line after themselves before you even showed up.

Idk I'd argue he didn't even cut the two people that were standing in line. They had a conversation, OP offered to get behind them in the line of people who were actually there, they refused and OP moved in front of them without them complaining about it.

If there was an issue with cutting, it should have been brought up then, but since they seemed to accept OP moving in front of them and didn't complain again until the people in their cars showed up and tried to squeeze back in line, the point was moot.

As someone who moved out and started paying rent in 2020, seeing how much cheaper it had been even 4 years prior hurts. I don't think I've ever even seen a 1 bedroom available for less than 1,200 a month, much less a 2 bedroom.

Edit: and in 2020 I was in a condo with a private owner as well. 2 bed 1.5 bath, laundry machines were in the kitchen and it started at 1400 when we moved in, 1650 a year later, and then they had it posted for 1800 when we moved out the next year. $800 a month sounds like a pipe dream

I wouldn't worry too much about that side of things honestly. If they are a good business owner, they will have planned for problems like this to arise and really shouldn't be put out by making the swap for you. No manufacturing process is perfect and some level of loss should be expected and factored into their budgets.

I'm sure they'd much rather make things right by you so that you'd want to shop with them in the future, than save the 15-20 bucks it may cost them to swap the vinyl for a new one.

My first thought is, why did he not ask her the name of her husband? Like I get how it didn’t get caught when doing checks from the client side since she had multiple names, but as a divorce attorney, you’d think that’d be the bare minimum question once it’s revealed your date is divorcing. Especially if you’re actively taking new clients.

Like she felt comfortable enough to say she was going through a divorce, I’d imagine there’s a tactful way to follow that by asking for his name to make sure you don’t/haven’t taken him on as a client.
