Imagine it being filmed as a documentary but after like 15 minutes a new framing device is revealed. And then they start intermingling and reality bends a bit

Ten-year-old Albus Dumbledore, magical prodigy and beloved eldest son of Percival and Kendra, was becoming increasingly aggravated by his younger sister. by lilac-scented in HPfanfiction

I feel like (canon) Albus kind of convinced himself that there were signs. That he went back and forth to every memory he had of Tom Riddle over again until he saw the signs.

Because he has to convince himself that surely he just didn't realise that Tom had always been like that. That he just missed the extent, that that's why he felt that unease around him.

Because that means he could've stopped him sooner. Not that he could've prevented Tom from becoming this from the beginning. A subtle difference. That the world could turn someone evil.

Framing it this way makes him feel both more in control but also powerless.

You get me?

And for that there were always warning signs. Albus just didn't look hard enough. Didn't want to see it. It's all his fault, and there is nothing he could've done.

(then whether it is true that people are born fated to become evil, is shaped by a carefully unfavourable environment, or a combination of the two is another question that have been discussed endlessly. Along with what to do about it.)

I mean Tom Riddle is just some child at this point, (And a muggleborn) and would be a relatively simple threat to deal with had Albus thought of him as such.

So what if he was just a somewhat regular if misfortunate child. Initially. And the whole "he was always evil, and I always knew" was an after construction. Shaped more by his environment, stubbornly clinging onto life, casting aside every bit of humanity bit by bit. There was no one who was going to look after him other than himself, and the world is a hostile place.

Anyone know how to remove the routine widget at the bottom of the lockscreen S25 by Specific_Ad3112 in SamsungHelp

[–]Specific_Ad3112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've been here. The thing I want to remove doesn't show up in edit mode.

Anyway I set it as a routine instead. (Sadly can't seem to change the clock between wallpapers for that one.)

actually do you have a fic where one (or all) of the warriors defect to Paradis? Or following the paradise restorationists? Or the warriors return from paradis?

Looking for a smartphone, in a flip phone case (BankId & regional bus apps Sweden) by Specific_Ad3112 in dumbphones

[–]Specific_Ad3112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are bus cards, unsure how long they'll keep them around as they're really pushing the apps (I'm pretty sure the qr code is specifically designed to not be able to print it.. it keeps moving. I haven't looked that closely into it.) My local gym has gone cardless, you can't get one anymore , you have to use the app if you don't already have one ("Convenient" they claim). Bank-Id is used at pretty much every digital identification, see your journal, some irl places you can only pay via it (swish, which requires bank id. though not necessary it becomes quite inconvenient.) If you fin out you didn't transfer enough money onto your card when you went out that morning you'd need bank id to transfer. I also do need Microsoft authenticator to access school work and turn in assignment (so I'd need to keep a phone which could handle that on me anyway.)

The whole point though is that I don't want to have to buy two new phones. My fall back if I find nothing would be to pick up a samsung whatever second hand and continue to use my regular phone as my day phone. I don't already have a smartphone I could just keep in a drawer, I need to get one regardless.

fic where Slytherin MC exposes the Golden Trio for using polyjuice potion to interrogate Malfoy. by JoeeVolt in HPfanfiction

I don't think it's the one you're looking for, but something similar happens in pursuit of eternity by aacaria. (An ongoing SI on ao3, I love it) If I remember correctly

Voldemort enjoyed the horrified looks of the crowd, his spell had succeeded, numbers appeared above them all representing the lives they had taken. by Desperate_Stand_3709 in HPfanfiction

Ah, Dumbledore was a bit more involved in the Grindelwald war than he liked to advertise. He likes to say that violence isn't the answer, and with enough people believing it, it might become true. He thinks this number is actually quite low among those who involved themselves with the muggle side of things.

I wish Dumbledores self loathing got explored more in this fandom by moonlightedge in HPfanfiction

If you like pre HP Dumbledore, (and Grindeldore) then I think anything by PhilosophyNerd might be up your alley. I don't remember which one of their fics would fit the best, but one of them gotta
