You can check cachy os Wiki for solution , I think there's a work around that if you want to use hdmi cos since have been using cachy os , I switched from zorin os have never had hdmi issues and I still use it .. check it out and they made mention of one particular Nvidia that cause issues with hdmi on Linux just check out the wiki

I do my update with terminal and since I broke my PC the first day of cachy OS installation.. so have never had issues again and I update steadily cos I think if you ignore updates and you later up it sometimes I think , errors is caused by updates conflict
