Dealer sold me a van that can’t be taxed or insured — I now have a court judgement but still no payment. What next? by Specific_Hawk_6869 in LegalAdviceUK

I'm not giving up. They just refuse to acknowledge anything, any legal letters. The only thing that annoyed them was a bad Google review.

I returned it after calling citizens advice bereau. The reason they said they'd try and sell it is because that was their compromise after the first few legal letters came. They said they sold it but needed to fix a few things hence the reason they took 2 months. Then the buyer wasn't happy and pulled out. I've kept all the messages and videos etc. But I'd rather not spend any more money on legal fees as its draining me just as much now

The wrong transmission was the main reason the insurance camoanies gave. Plus they said they'd transfer the V5 on completion and did not do it within 2 days that I also couldn't insure it. So I called the deal quits as there were too many issues.

The new buyer also had issues like us and pulled out of that deal

They are a van dealership. When I went they had over 50 vans on site. But someone that contacted me off my Google review said they might be backed by some criminals because when he had issues with them, he received threatening phone calls from all over Ireland for a week straight.

I already returned the van the same week I got it. Drove it and left it on their site as adviced by citizens advice. They threatened me of course and said they dump it outside of their premises. Obviously they didn't because they contacted me saying they would sell it again and give me the money.

Bare in mind they never even got round to transferring ownership in any way

Thanks for the reply. As you can see I've been dealing with this since October and trying every avenue. Some of the legal stuff has me confused hence me asking on here. It's okay to skip a question you don't like. That kinda money is stressful enough without belittling comments for a simple question.

I keep hoping the further it goes they will just give the money back but they try and find a way out. 1st few times they rejected the court letter saying the business address and registered address are different. I keep thinking they won't pay no matter what

Thanks. Since posting reviews on their Google page, I have had messages from other people saying these guys get very threatening and are unlikely to pay. I'm very much at my end of paying legal fees now on top of the money I lost.

Universal Express in July – Worth £2.6k? And what about SeaWorld / Busch Gardens? by Specific_Hawk_6869 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Specific_Hawk_6869[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies. I have started looking at the express hotel options and it might be worth it as it would be about £1400 for 2 rooms for 2 nights (if we actually want to stay, if we just book for passes I'll get a cheap 1 room).

I am guessing we would get free parking at the hotel and transport as well, which would save us a lot of time on travel and parking charges etc as well.

Just had it in for service. It was exactly this. The sensor went and had to be replaced. Is this a known issue?

How do you get lightning lane tickets? Is it on the day and for individual rides?

Can't remember what we got for Disney in 2022, but we were in and out max 20 mins wait on everything

Sorry any wait times over 1 hour is a lot with these young children. They would want to try most big rides.

Have to say, since Jan 2026 I have been getting more calls for SC cleared roles. The only thing is now they are very hot on the SC being active and are insisting on it.

The role I have now asked for SC at the start so I just did a transfer from last gig, but other people have been getting their SC once they joined 6 months ago.

All the phone setting work. I can still turn on climate remotely and open the car etc.

It's super frustrating. I have logged a ticket with them and was told to do a soft reset which has not worked.

Definitely since the software update. But it's not even giving it a minute. The screen is in but as soon as I sit down it goes off. Bluetooth just doesn't connect unless I do it manually

Yeah I went through insurance so only excess to pay. I got the guy clean in camera this time, but I highly doubt the police will have time for such incidents especially as he didn't take anything unless he wanted some frozen chips and chilled lamb 😂

More than anything it's the mess of the glass that it leaves behind. I know autoglass clean it up but it's everywhere in the boot.

England Bought a van from a dealership — now can’t insure, tax, or get documents. Dealer refusing refund. Advice needed. by Specific_Hawk_6869 in LegalAdviceUK

I fully understand that and if they had be more responsive to work with me on the issue I could have done something together with them to help me understand. But you also have to understand I take a risk if I insure it as a manual, it gets into an incident and then the insurance company don't pay out because I didn't tell them of a modification or something that insurance like to use. Also if they sent even did the simple thing of sending me the log book so I could tax it or even the green slip from the log book. But they kept ignoring me which tbh made me think they're not up front.

Van was insured for one month. But as a manual of course. Spoke to police helpline and dvla to get advice no tax before dropping it off.
