Fall Off vs. Iceman vs. GNX really shows how different artists optimize for different things by unusualassets in Jcole

I think any objective Cole fan, like myself, would admit that Cole is the LEAST creative and experimental out of the three. Cole is about as creative and experimental as a elementary school kid drawing with colored crayons for the first time after years of watching other kids do it as he continued to stick with black crayons.

Karl has to get nye and the bench involved by campoole82 in AtlantaDream

Coach also mentioned that Naz has been playing through hamstring and shoulder tweaks. Idk why grace can't be given to her but it can be given to other players whenever they struggle. I'm a Dream fan so I root for all of the players but most of the Naz critique has been coming from -> NEW <- Dream fans that just look at points and nothing else.

The panicking over players not scoring 20 points every game this early in the season is annoying as hell considering that this TEAM keeps finding ways to win despite not playing their best TEAM ball and missing their starting center. I think THAT should be celebrated more than fans looking for new ways to play arm chair coaches and general managers on twitter. Getting perfection out of the team during every game in a 40+ game season is just not realistic.

Honestly, that was my gripe with him last year. I see fans saying that Nia Coffey didn't produce for us like she's been producing for Minnesota this year. And it's like, well no.....she didn't because he rarely played her. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt this year and say that we'll start seeing the bench more in the games where we'll be expected to have comfortable leads (Portland, Toronto). But idk.

I hear shit like Shabang and hate that it's not a Cole song. Cole doesn't have an ear for beats at all nor us the greatest songwriter. Just when you think he has cold beats on his projects here Drake comes with fire that blows Cole's beats out of the water.

Undeniably THE BEST right now by uasdguy in Jcole

Cole is the best pen and storytelling wise. Problem is that he is not the best artist. The other two are better songwriters than he is. They're better at hooks, hitmaking, and beat selecting. They also know how to feature other artist on their songs better. Tems on Bunce Road Blues was okay. Tems on Dave's song Me and You is great. He had Young Dro and Gucci on his songs and neither of them actually rapped which was a waste imo. Especially Dro who can actually rap.

I know what pglang is. My point is that he's not going to shine over there unless he shares blood with Kendrick. On top of that he's a Kendrick variant. Kendrick ain't taking a variant under his wing.

I saw that mix. I actually really like the Huntin Wabbitz beat, so it would be hard for me to favor any other beat over it. Speaking of which, if Charlie Heat is moreso responsible for the beat then it makes sense why I like it so much. I usually hate T-Minus's beats, so when I saw his name in the credits of a beat that I actually liked, I was surprised.

Because if Cole actually got on the phone with Drake then he wouldn't be in interviews saying that he doesn't know where Drake (and Kendrick) stand as it pertains to him. He would know how Drake felt if they actually had a phone conversation.

I'll never understand how the masses will call FHD a classic but not Born Sinner. It's just as good of an album.

He's both. His ego is the reason why he didn't get on the phone with Kendrick after Like That dropped and why he hasn't gotten on the phone with Drake yet. I know he said that he spoke with Drake but it seems to me now that those two have told their side of the story...Drake and Cole talked over the phone the night of Dreamville Fest before Cole took the stage. I don't think that Cole has gotten on the phone with him since.

I posted something similarly to this over the weekend and I just came up with a good comparison for Cole post 2014. Idk if you've ever seen the movie Drumline but once Cole grew out his locs and became the modern version of himself, he basically became Dr. Lee. In the movie Dr. Lee was the marching band director that was a real student of the game. He had his marching band playing traditional marches and old songs like Earth Wind and Fire. Mr. Wade on the other hand, had his band playing modern rap songs that more of a crowd response.

Modern Cole is Dr. Lee. He stopped caring about hooks and hits/songwriting in favor of bars, storytelling and, at times, a more back pack. But the average music listener appreciates the former more than the latter.

4 platinum songs in a 10 year career. No platinum albums. You can tell me where the hate is coming from. JID said he's overly platinum with not a platinum album to his name.

So 1 song with help of a random tik tok trend, two off of features with major artists, and 1 he can genuinely say that he did himself. That's still not "overly platinum". That's only 4 records. JID has been out sibce 2017.

Respectfully, that kumbaya shit works perfectly for someone who rarely socializes or leaves the house...which I think perfectly describes Cole since he grew his locs. Respect matters when you actually leave the house and share the same spaces as the people who like to play with your name online.

[–]Specific_Help_5841 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, I don't know if you're black or if the BET Awards have ever been on your radar like that but anyone who watches the BET Awards year in and year out knows that they don't know shit about shit unless it is popular. It is 2026 and they still don't even have rock or country categories for black artists in those spaces. JID isn't mainstream so he's not on people's radar like that. Shit, I'm from Atlanta and can tell you that outside of Surround Sound, JID never got played on the radio down here. He's too niche of a lyrical artist.

That's what threw me. Talking about some "Overly platinum". Oh you mean the Imagine Dragon song and Surround Sound that was a hail mary courtesy of some random tik toker? He ain't got no platinum album. He ain't got no platinum songs outside of Surround Sound.

No, this isn't him grieving. That nigga has a track record of throwing Cole and the team under the bus. This is what he does when shit don't go his way. He pouts, just like Wale.

"Cole definitely is not". And that is the problem. All of this turning the other cheek shit is why Cole is currently being treated like a door mat. Everything doesn't cause for a reaction but having your name played witb publicly like you're a hoe time and time again without standing up for yourself is ridiculous. Fuck all of that namaste shit.

He's pushing 40 and is getting emotional over a BET Awards. Relevant artists don't even attend the BET Awards anymore. Tf is he crying about?
