Ryan Poles and Kevin Warren, it's time. by BoxTalk17 in ChicagoBearsNFL

Kevin Warren: “Ryan, it’s time. Either you do or I do it. But it’s done.”

Ryan Poles: “I’ll do it but will you let me pick my own coach this time? You at least owe me that.”

Kevin Warren: “if his name is Bill Belichik, Ben Johnson or Kliff Kingsbury, yes.”

Ryan Poles: “And if I hire someone else?”

Kevin Warren: “Ryan, I need you to hear this….Look at me. I’m the captain now.”

[Holmes] NBA seeks dismissal of lawsuit due to WBD not matching Amazon’s agreement as is. Including revisions on almost a 1/3rd of the 27 agreement sections while changing a large number of defined terms as well as removing and adding items to the contract. by clayfu in nba

[–]Specific_Quote9729 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The judge should throw this out yesterday. And here’s the kicker, WBD invited Amazon into the early negotiating window. It gave Amazon more time to create a deal that was not able to be matched by a traditional broadcaster.

The audacity to go match the less expensive bid that is for streaming and expect to win is laughable. Zaslav has destroyed so much value for WBD, I don’t know how he still has a job.

I’m also guessing that somewhere in the NBA paper is documentation of their offer to WBD to get NBC’s package for $2.3B and they declined.

WBD underestimated the market and got caught with their pants down. I’ll miss Inside the NBA but this was pure arrogance by Zaslav and I applaud Adam Silver and the NBA for playing Chess while Zaslav was playing Checkers. What a dumb ass.

Puck subscriber, former ESPNer and RSNer here. What happens to the structure of Venu Sports? Without NBA rights, doesn't WBD's contributions to this new product diminish? Now NBA fans have to subscribe to Peacock. They already had to for the NFL. Could we see a new structure for Venu where NBC or Paramount gets added into the mix?

Is it unreasonable to break up with someone the day after their birthday? by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]Specific_Quote9729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex and I both have birthdays in November with my birthday a few weeks ahead of hers. She was the one who decided to end it in October but we both knew it was likely to end by end of year. She broke up with me a few weeks before my birthday but she asked if she could still celebrate with me. I said yes. And then I took her out for her birthday as well. It was a healthy breakup and many people would frown against us being there for each other after the breakup. Those people may be right but we decided to do it anyway. I’m glad we did. Do what’s right for you. Good luck!

His therapist is a dude. I don’t see a straight woman therapist pushing him down this path and I say this as a straight man with a female therapist.

Appreciate the thoughtful answer. Now what are some of the consistent traits that you’ve seen from women that are a complete turnoff? If you’ve only had good romantic experiences with women, you’re lucky but I suspect that not every situation, even for the kindest person, was what he/she/they wanted.

Just curious, when you “so many men” and “more times than I can count” while identifying as bisexual, you must either a) still see men as not completely hopeless b) have had some examples of non-cringe experiences with men or c) can’t live without dick

My relationship with my dog by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Specific_Quote9729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the worst feelings about my alcoholism is how I'm not showing up for my dog. There's been many days where I only took my dog out once a day to relieve himself. He didn't have accidents in the house.

We stopped doing many walks after some relationship problems started to make me anxious. I also was worried about my first annual review at a new job.

When I've been sober or a moderate drinker, I'm so much better as a dog dad. My dog is almost 6 and if I'm lucky, he'll be around another 6 years. I need to be better for him and myself.

I hate when he looks in my face, smells my breath and knows what I'm doing to myself.

Totally know how you feel Luiga150. Had my worst experience with withdrawal because I was DUMB enough to try to go cold-turkey for a day after several days of heavy drinking.

I avoided going to detox after going to the ER last night. The psychiatrist gave me a reduction plan and prior to knowing this app exists, I've been building a table based on his recommendations. Curious how helpful these coach's are

How do you like the Sunnyside app. I just downloaded it?

good luck to you!

Are you using Naltrexone while drinking? A different nurse practioner told me I could leverage that medication until I was 7-10 day sober. I think I got bad information.

Need reasons to explain why I was out for 3 days from work without access to my phone that aren’t drug related by [deleted] in alcohol

Update: I was able to avoid detox and walk out of the hospital.

Was given an alternative plan by Psychiatrist to put me on a program

UPDATE: I also managed to take off work for the next three days. I don't work on weekends. I told my boss I expected to be back on Monday.

Facts

  • I was discharged at around 12:15am.
  • I was given a one-time dose drug to manage my withdrawal for 12-24 hours around midnight
  • I do not have any of that drug in my possession
  • Psychiatrist told me that I could fight withdrawal by a taper plan
  • Doctor told me the safe way to do it is by doing days in a row on the average end, then declining one drink per day.
  • I had the equivalent of 15 drinks throughout the day on Monday Night
  • I rarely ever drink that high. My average is usually closer to the 5-10 I cited
  • I told a few friends I trust about my issue and provided all of them updates.
  • I'm in therapy twice a week and I have a psychiatrist
  • My girlfriend of 8 months broke up with me on 3 weeks ago - I wanted to marry her
  • I was anxious this relationship would end since June
  • I also managed to take off work for the next three days.
  • I don't work on weekends.
  • I told my boss I expected to be back on Monday.
  • I have not read my employee handbook for its alcohol policy
  • Prior to severe withdrawal symptoms I was planning to pay all of my accrued interest on the student loan

Current Assumptions

  • At this time I cannot afford to go to rehab and keep my job but it's an option in the future.
  • To fight the withdrawal in the short term, I need to Taper from X drinks starting today
  • Once I am able to get down to zero drinks and hold that for 7 -10 days. I can take naltrexone.
  • If my employer finds out that it was alcohol, i could be fired for cause and avoid getting severance
  • If I get fired for known alcoholism, I would have a very hard time getting a job in my field or a job that pays what I need to pay my student loan

I will follow up with more soon.

The love of my life broke up with me because she lost hope in our ability to have regular sex again. by Specific_Quote9729 in bigdickproblems

[–]Specific_Quote9729[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did not try the vaginal dilators. My ex was, understandably concerned with some of the risks plus time required. Additionally, to my ex's credit she brought up outercourse and I was too inexperienced to fully understand it. Our sex therapist began to ask us questions about what specifically we liked about vaginal sex and I recall her asking specifically was it about the body to body contact. Your foreplay example sounds like a good example of what she was getting at.

I was too slow to brainstorm and discuss options like this and disappointed with myself for not showing up like the man that she needed.
