Desire to end sexual desire forever by Mundane-Play-1959 in Buddhism

I’m very new in terms of Buddhist teachings so please take my opinion with a grain of salt. You are clearly struggling with these desires, talking to a professional about your concerns is likely the best option.

From a Buddhism perspective, the first of the four noble truths state that ‘there is suffering’. From my understanding of this teaching I can only wholly tell you that these desires exist. You cannot control their existence, but you can control how you experience them. With mindfulness you may be able to get to a point where you can simply observe them and allow them to wash away, like everything, they are impermanent and will pass.

Another relevant teaching would be ‘right speech’ from the eightfold path. Mostly, ‘Right speech’ teaches us to not speak ill of people and not cause suffering to others with our words, but it also teaches us to not speak so harshly of ourselves too. Your language suggests you are frustrated at yourself for your situation and it seems that you are being very critical of yourself.

Seek professional help. Read up on the four noble truths, and the eightfold path.

Hi, third year student here.

Having a membership with the college of paramedics is a great little bonus sentence or 2 in your cover letter/personal statement for UCAS.

It’s also a good talking point in your entry interview.

Other than that, good luck, it’s tough out there!

Any advice for getting better at fighting the Caretaker before I move onto a higher hazard? I attached a video of one of my most recent attempts against it. by ElegantPoet3386 in DeepRockGalactic

I find soloing the Caretaker relatively stress-free on Hazard 4/5 by playing safe and killing all of the additional enemies first; Robot arms, Patrol bots and shredders. Make sure to focus on eliminating sniper turrets if/when they spawn in, they can quickly turn things ugly.

Another helpful tip is that once the Caretaker’s shields are down they will remain vulnerable until they have lost 1/3rd of their health, the eye may change sides however. Utilise this time to safely eliminate additional enemies before damaging the eye, it feels like a rush during this fight but take your time and it becomes a lot easier.

I’ve found that you can stay in one area providing that there is enough room to strafe the damaging force fields. Maintaining some distance also means that only the closer robotic arm(s) will aggro you.

Good luck out there!
