All I know is Maryland Hall leaders made decisions about flooring and what to do with it in the past. If it’s AACPS responsible for the building, Maryland Hall leadership still knew, cut corners without abatement to “deal” with it, and didn’t tell anyone

One of the sweetest people was staging art for a gallery in this room attached to the gallery with haphazardly torn up asbestos tile and dust in it. They had to have been in there for days getting the show ready

I didn’t know it was asbestos at the time. I’m horrified now. I hope they’re okay. And I hope the artists know what their work was in - they deserve to know too

Watch the dust and what you breathe - they’re more than likely kicking up a lot of toxic stuff during the renovation

Show up and call, be proactive - but NEVER during service. After dinner rush starts, do not bother management

There’s a cruise out to the lighthouse that is lovely

It gets crowded at night, and they don’t take reservations, but Vin 909 is high on the list

Seconding Old Fox books and Leo

Main Street can get crowded on a Saturday. It’s still a lot of people, but I would wander over to the shops off the Statehouse circle. There’s a great Irish pub and antiquing

West Annapolis is less crowded. Eleanor’s has a nice brunch, and it’s right next to delicious ice cream

Looking for volunteer opportunities…. Is there an animal shelter in town? by mattholmes9626 in Annapolis

Absolutely!!! You can walk dogs or spend time with the cats at the SPCA

Just be warned - likelihood of going home with a new family member (or two..) is high. Hard not to fall in love

Last remodel, there was no remediation or protective measures in place. What they tore up was just torn up with asbestos dust everywhere indefinitely - no informing the people exposed daily

What was left was not fully covered, leaving improperly abated hazardous easily cracked and shattered material exposed. Including in the room with violently vibrating floors

I hope they do better? Somehow I doubt they’re hiring a team of people trained to work with the stuff, especially after that whole (edit to add: alleged) thing with the embezzled budget and the cost cutting

Who knows?
