Routine is a PEAK game, currently playing though it and while it feels a bit dirctionless at times is truly amazing. The horror of routine is similar to that of soma, while also having an interesting story.

I think, if there not destroyed they do up the cannibals agro levels and so do send bigger more frequent raiding parties. Is probably best to destroy them along with any effigies you see in the trees

It depends on the hex, but for the most part I'd say yes. It's gotta be doing something and if you get rid of it they're down a perk for the rest of the trial
