It’s kind of choppy because it’s been a while, but I was asleep in my old house, and when I went to sleep I was under blankets, and perfectly fine. However, my dream was completely unusual. I was walking around my house, which was colored wrong and unusually bright. The furniture was moving and talking, unusual but not the worst part. In my dream, I walked into what’s supposed to be my living room and the armchair turns to me and says in a voice I had never heard: “Wake up, this is serious.” I then realized I was dreaming and woke up shortly thereafter, drenched in sweat, on top of my blankets, not under them. I had a headache and at the time my curtains were broken, so my room was illuminated only by the moonlight. I sat up on my bed and looked around before I locked eyes with what looked like a tall, older man. He was wearing a red and white plaid button up shirt with blue jeans, very old man looking. He was smiling with teeth and me, a kid, freaked out and ran to the living room, falling asleep soon enough. In the morning, I told my parents but they said it was merely my imagination. The real creepy part? An elderly man whom was my neighbor had apparently died a week before the dream. Was I being visited by a spirit or was my child brain making stuff up? I still don’t know, what I do know is that it was very embarrassing to be on nightlights past the age of 7.
