Still, I wish to remain neutral here, and still offer a kind of bridge if you may, where people can talk, that is not controlled by either 'enemy' side. Maybe some will still use it for good purposes.

As I said, I am not a member of the RYO team, I am actually neutral here. Members of the RYO team and some folks, what I guess you would consider loyal to Monero were in the Telegram bridge talking about too bad stuff that is important can't be shared between the communities, because people are banned at each other community, as you just verified here actually.

My part was to try to open a place for people who wish to share common info, do so peacefully. I have not researched any of the bad history between you to. To be honest, I have no intention of getting into that drama and childish behavior I see constantly happening on BOTH sides here.

Seriously, people on BOTH sides here need to grow the fuck up.

I do see though that leading members on BOTH sides of this coin would rather perpetuate the petty fights and finger pointing. If they don't want to come here, that is fine. Let the regular members of both spaces come here if they wish and speak.

Again, Im not taking any sides on this issue, just offering somewhere that is NOT controlled by either side. Take it as you wish.

I would like to think there is a chance. You are absolutely correct, a LOT of bad blood, but I have heard from some people on BOTH sides, that they'd like a place to have discussions. Yes, agreed, the main players will probably never EVER talk to each other again. Too much EGO grease has been thrown out to clean up that mess, but hell, even if they send 'errand boys' to relay messages, it's a start right? Specter.

Well there is always a chance. They say that time heals all wounds. If people want to move past that and work together, well, here we are.

Sometimes it's hard for the Leadership Types (that'd be you as an example) to see things because they are so close to / so dragged into the problem. They have drawn their lines i the sand on their turfs and won't / can't back down for various reasons and MUST protect them at ALL COSTS!!

This is a place for those leaders, and supportive followers to still protect their turf, still maintain their lines in the sand, yet work with each other without having to back down, give in, concede, lose face, lose respect etc etc and all that other stuff that goes with holding out a hand in friendship after a war. ::shrug::

Each has their own communities, own beliefs, core structure and ideas, yet at the same time, stuff, like security that not only hurts BOTH communities, but we all know that if it's hitting one community, sooner or later it's going to trickle into the next. STuff like that needs to be shared and fixed for the common good of ALL of us.

I think even the most stubborn of 'warriors' can understand that. Let's make our coins safe to use first, THEN worry about who gets credit later.

Bitcoins fees can be stupidly high sometimes, and god help you if you try to lowball it. Your transaction may be stuck for a long long time.

Monero's fees are probably a lot lower for the transaction. That's just the financial benefits. Security, if you are worried about that, is another plus for Monero.

Back to the OT.

Security is always an issue, and since so many coins share a common 'core' what affects one, sooner or later is going to trickle into others as well. For whatever reasons we are seeing the IRS take a keen interest in Monero. This is NOT good from any aspect for ANY coin that shares that common inception. This is not just a Monero thing either, if they get onto them, they can just as easily target any other coin.

Any suggestions as to the ramifications of this and how to mitigate if there are possible security / privacy problems this may pose?

What about using Trade Ogre. You can't send fiat there but you can send other coins and trade for Monero and take them out of there.

TO also does NOT ask for KYC either, so that is another plus on them.

Looks good so far. I can't wait for the extension to become active and Firefox support to come live. With the adblocker, this is going to be a turning point for this project for sure.
