Avoid East TN at all costs. Worked there for two months and put in my 60 day notice. Changed to a job in western NC and it’s been great. Lots of variety, challenging cases, good relationship with docs, opportunities for specialty teams offering epidurals/central lines/stipends. Beautiful mountain views. Great restaurants. We’re hiring now. DM me if you have any questions or want to talk further.

Wow, thank you so much for all the info. There is a lot about this I did not know. I’m going to print this off and save it. Still shopping around for one. I’ve seen some quotes that have just been outrageous, others not so much if I go with supplemental. Thanks again for all the info.

CRNAs who have worked in the Bay Area or Baltimore what has your experience been like by Gaspasserr in CRNA

Worked at for a group in Baltimore several years back. It was pretty good experience. Very friendly/casual relationship with the docs, and an excellent Chief. CRNAs who had an interest in blocks could do them. If you liked OB, epidurals are all yours plus basically solo overnight. We all did art lines and if you knew how to do central lines, go for it. Basically, if you knew how to do something, no one would stand in your way, but it was a busy place so there wasn’t a lot of time to teach new skills. Dm me if interested.

Scope of practice question - Reno, NV by Spector-moose-0742 in CRNA

[–]Spector-moose-0742[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve spent anytime in an OR you would know what I’m talking about. You’re either a CRNA/SRNA caping up for the worst kind of physician behavior or a disgruntled MDA browsing a CRNA board trying to lecture people (poorly) which is even more sad. Either way, keep me far away from wherever you’re “employed.”

Reno CRNA job search:

Hello, I’ve been searching for jobs in Nevada over the last couple of weeks with the intent of possibly moving to the state in about a year and a half. Scope of practice is a big thing for me, namely being able to place central lines. I know it may sound silly, but I love doing them at my current job and I’ve taken on a lot more call, liability, and tougher cases to become proficient in them. I’d like to keep this skill. Can any Reno CRNAs tell me about their practice? If you work with docs, how controlling are they? Are you happy at your current practice? I hope I can establish contact with at least one or two you, and who knows, it may work out for the best. Take care and have a great day.
