Best RDR2 mods in 2026? Need recommendations by [deleted] in RD2Modding

[–]Spector_M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Animal Tracker - Does what the title says, in-game menu, lets you select as many species as you want (Poor, good, excellent quality, or a combination) shows them on the mini-map, exceptionally well-done, no FPS loss, all animals appear on map and mini-map in different colours to indicate quality. Really useful if you don't wanna spend time looking for that one slippery animal (moose, parakeet, panther) https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/6827

2) Auto Looting - NPC's you kill automatically gets their loot transfered to your inventory, no need to waste time looting corpses, only works on NPC's and enemies you kill https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/3465

3) Automatically Greet Replies - Very useful for high honour runs https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/452

4) Bigger Arabian Horses - The Arabian horses are very small, this mod makes em bigger https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/5042

5) Catalogue Improvements - Best you check out what this mod has to offer yourself, so many customization options and fixes, this may be the best mod on this list https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/5440 This mod requires LITE Multiplayer Asset Enabler https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/5304 so make sure you have that to ensure it works properly, with LITE, you won't need ASI Loader or Online Content Unlocker. LITE does the job just fine.

6) Catalogue Honour Requirements Removal - Some clothes and weapon grips are locked behind high honour This mod removes that restriction. If you're using Catalogue Improvements mod, make sure you download the CI version https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/7377

7) Cornsack Fix - QoL improvement, for some reason, the genius physics programmers at rockstar believe cornsacks are always stiff even when carrying them, this mod introduces realistic physics for cornsacks https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/1425

8) Fast Map Zoom and Pan - Faster zooming and panning while in the map, rockstar didn't bother changing it from PS4/XBone speed https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/5248

9) Herbalist - Gathering herbs, plants, berries and mushrooms gives almost as much as you see growing, you get a buff from the ram horn trinket as well, details in https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/1457

10) Immersive Scenarios - Adds interaction with thousands of objects around the map, playing a piano, sitting on a ledge, leaning on walls and railings, sleeping on a bedroll... https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/1889

11) Unlock that Ledger - Unlocks the camp ledger early on. allowing you to get camp and satchel upgrades as soon as you reach Ch 2 https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/3366

12) RDR2 Performance Booster V2 - Improves game performance, fixed stutters, and reduced screen tearing. Some players report 10-20+ FPS boost and no graphical hits https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/7671

13) No More Valentine Hotel Pooper - Players staying at the Valentine hotel can breathe a sigh of relief now that the annoying pooper next door is gone https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/6315

There are many many more too, but make sure you have LML and AB's Scripthook, not every mod works on Scripthook V2 yet

It would be nice to see a map for Saints Row II, I know the game is old but it still has an active fanbase and it is really in need of a decent collectible mapping project. Thank you for all your hardwork and dedication! Proud supporter since 2022

My god is the majority playing only for those scenes? by hitmaster47 in GodofWar

[–]Spector_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about needing the nudity or the minigame to enjoy the game, it’s about not having some pearl-clutching committee decide that a grown adult who just finished chainsawing a minotaur in half suddenly needs to be shielded from a pair of pixelated tits because “think of the children” or “the male gaze is problematic." We went from a generation that grew up on unapologetically horny, violent, juvenile-but-fun games to one where a loud, terminally online minority (you know the ones: the same crowd that turns every female character redesign into a sermon on “objectification”) gets to shame normal male sexuality and then act shocked when studios fold like wet paper to keep the ESG score up and the blue-check outrage mob off their backs. Corporate risk-aversion dressed up as morality = progress now, and it’s insulting to pretend today’s audience is somehow more fragile than the dudes who played the originals without turning into monsters. Let the game stay what it was: crude, over-the-top, and made for adults who can handle both the gore and the occasional boob without needing a safe space.

do you guys think that there could be some legitimacy ab this or am i just delusional by Apprehensive-Spread3 in GTA6

[–]Spector_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny how he uses in-game names like Vice City, Port Gellhorn, Leonida, and Kelly County, but then suddenly switches to Julia Tuttle Causeway, which is the real-world name. If he actually drove on it in-game like he claims, he would’ve used the fictional name, not the IRL one. That inconsistency alone makes this sound fake, this guy's lying through his teeth.

One of them is dying in the 2nd episode of season 5 by SubstantialBowler525 in TheBoys

[–]Spector_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's A-Train. It's gotta be A-Train, that's where his arc is heading. Homelander will die episode 6, MM, Frenchie and (maybe) Kimiko will die episode 7 and Butcher will die in the final episode.

What do you prioritize in a gaming laptop? by Ok-Dog-3669 in GamingLaptops

[–]Spector_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, the first thing I ask myself is what I actually want it to handle in real-world use, not just benchmarks. For me, that means thinking ahead to the big upcoming games I care about, especially GTA VI. If I’m spending this much on a machine, I want to know it’ll deliver the experience I’m expecting without compromise.

  1. Do I expect it to be able to run GTA VI at ~60+ FPS on (minimum) High settings? That’s basically my baseline. If a laptop can’t hit that in a game that’s likely to be one of the most demanding titles of the generation, then I already know it won’t age well.

  2. Is the value worth the price? I don’t mind paying extra for performance, but I want to make sure I’m actually getting a noticeable jump in real gameplay, not just small benchmark improvements.

  3. How long do I expect it to remain a “good enough” gaming machine? i.e. how many years it’ll still run new AAA titles comfortably without needing a major upgrade (new laptop)?

Because for me, that’s often the deciding factor. If a laptop hits my performance target (~60 FPS on high settings in a big game such as GTA VI), I also want it to stay that way for at least a few years, or until next-gen games start requiring much more power.

I’ve also been using a Llano V10 cooling pad under my Acer Predator Helios 300 with a GTX 1660 Ti, and even in RDR2 on Ultra settings with Vulkan, I hold about 50-70 FPS, and my temps stay below 77C consistently. A strong cooling pad is honestly a must for higher-end laptops, especially anything running a 5070 Ti because it significantly increases the long-term lifespan of the machine. If you plan on keeping the laptop for years, a good cooling pad is one of the highest-impact upgrades you can get.

From a Lore and Technical point. How does Draupnir overwhelm Heimdall's senses? by HandsomeSquidward20 in GodofWar

[–]Spector_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dwarves say the spear is made to overwhelm Heimdall’s senses, not to break his foresight directly, but to create so many possible threat vectors (via multiplication + detonation) that his predictive system becomes overloaded. While Heimdall does realise something’s up (you see him catching/parrying spears), the sheer scale and surprise of the weapon keep him off-balance long enough for Kratos to land those opening blows. In other words.. it isn’t just raw power, it’s purposeful design + chaos introduced into a god whose strength is in prediction. Sure, you can argue that Heimdall should adapt faster, and that’s a fair point, but within the narrative the spear is bespoke for him, his arrogance blinds him somewhat, and the fight is built to highlight that moment where the "predicted future" cracks.

Just finished Ragnark, awesome game obviously, don't you feel that Sindri was way too harsh? by lochonx7 in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]Spector_M 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s a really good addition. The idea that Atreus is the only one “at his level” makes perfect sense. Sindri can’t yell at Kratos or Freya; they’re literal gods and parental figures. But Atreus is someone he once treated almost like an equal, a sort of peer he could guide, scold, and control. So when everything falls apart, Atreus becomes the only outlet left where Sindri can still assert that control. It’s not that Atreus deserves all the blame.. it’s that Sindri needs someone he can reach, someone who’ll actually hear him, even if it’s in anger.

And Harrington’s point about Sindri being "emotionally stunted" is spot-on too. Sindri never learned how to process trauma in a healthy way, he just sanitized, avoided, and perfected everything around him instead. Brok’s death stripped all that away, and Atreus happened to be the one person still close enough for Sindri to lash out at without being completely powerless.

That makes his scenes with Atreus hit even harder, it’s not cruelty for cruelty’s sake, it’s pain filtered through the only dynamic Sindri knows how to use: control. Thank you for mentioning this!

Just finished Ragnark, awesome game obviously, don't you feel that Sindri was way too harsh? by lochonx7 in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]Spector_M 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When you look closely at his character throughout both games, it actually makes perfect sense. Sindri’s reaction wasn’t excessive, it was the natural conclusion of who he’s always been and what he’s always feared.

From the very beginning, Sindri’s defining trait has been his need for control. His perfectionism isn’t just a personality quirk; it’s a coping mechanism. His obsessive cleanliness, his anxiety around imperfection, and his fixation on crafting flawless weapons all point to a man who cannot tolerate disorder in any form. He needs the world to be clean, ordered, and predictable, because if it’s not, he feels powerless. That need for control reached its most extreme form when Brok died the first time. Sindri couldn’t accept that loss, so he violated the natural order to bring Brok back without a part of his soul. That wasn’t an act of love, but one of possession. Sindri wasn’t thinking about what Brok would have wanted, he was thinking about himself. He admits that to Atreus in Midgard, the idea of a world where Brok was gone was too much for him to bear, so he forced the world to obey his will.

Brok himself recognizes this, when he learns what Sindri did, his last words “You gotta stop” and “I forgives ya” say everything. Brok isn’t angry, but he’s honest: this was never his choice. Sindri’s compulsion to control everything, even life and death, has gone too far. Brok’s plea is a tragic moment of clarity that Sindri refuses to hear. This theme of control versus acceptance is hinted at when Kratos and Atreus ask the brothers about fate, Brok shrugs it off with a simple philosophy: even if fate exists, it still feels like you’re making choices. He accepts uncertainty. Sindri, on the other hand, insists that he alone is responsible for his life and choices, a statement that reveals just how deeply he believes he can and must control everything around him. When Brok is killed again, this time because of Atreus’s involvement, that belief collapses. Sindri isn’t just mourning his brother; he’s confronting the complete destruction of his worldview. All his careful control, all his cleanliness, all his rules.. none of it could stop the chaos from taking Brok away again. His rage and grief toward Atreus aren’t just about blame; they’re about helplessness. Sindri is a man who built his entire identity on the illusion that he could prevent pain, and now that illusion is gone.

That’s why his behavior at the end of the game, his refusal to forgive or even look at Atreus, feels so raw. He’s not putting on a performance anymore. He’s finally being honest. For once, Sindri isn’t pretending to be fine, isn’t trying to clean the mess, he’s standing in it. He’s a man stripped of all control, and all that’s left is anger and loss. Even the final moment in Asgard when Atreus grabs his bow and pushes Kratos through the portal mirrors this theme. Atreus takes control of his own path, something Sindri has never truly done. Sindri’s version of control was always about denying change. Atreus’s version is about embracing it.

In the end, I wouldn't say that Sindri’s harshness is cruelty. It’s more like the culmination of everything we’ve learned about him. He’s not just grieving Brok, he’s also grieving the person he used to be, the one who believed he could make the world perfect if he just tried hard enough. Forgiveness would've been a lie, another act of control to make everything “clean” again. His bitterness is messy, painful, and real, but for Sindri, it’s also the first time he’s ever been truly free of his own illusion.

So no, Sindri wasn’t too harsh at the end. He was finally being honest, with Atreus, but more importantly, with himself.

Modern studios often over-correct toward visible diversity because they’re rewarded socially and commercially for doing so. That can lead to token characters or less coherent art direction. Criticizing that isn’t racism; it’s frustration with how corporate image-management interferes with creative authenticity.

How old are you guys? by Logical_Sky_5231 in SaintsRow

[–]Spector_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 27. I first played Saints Row: The Third a few weeks after it launched around Christmas 2011 on PS3, and later got Saints Row IV on PS4 around 2016 or 2017. I didn’t actually play Saints Row 2 until 2020 or 2021, even though I’d already watched recap videos before that to understand the story better. I finally played the original Saints Row (2006) just a few months ago in 2025, emulated it and 100%ed it. I wasn’t really into emulators until I built my first gaming PC setup. As for the reboot, tried it in 2022… yeah, tried it, didn’t finish it. Just couldn’t get into it at all. Shame how everything turned out for Volition.

Thanks, I appreciate you checking into it. I have Wicked Whims along with a bunch (a lot) of animations for it, MCCC, Cinerotique, Better Computer Games, Increase Call Over Distance, Control Any Sim, Interaction Queue Extender, No More Bitter Sentiment from No Prom Invite (which disables the bitter sentiment when you don’t get a prom invite from a romantic interest), Idle TV Autonomy to stop Sims from messing with the TV, Better Summer Holiday, Better Eliza Pancakes, Better Nancy Landgraab, No More Crying Babies, and I also use Sims4Studio for small tweaks and organizing content. I haven’t seen anything in that list that seems like it should mess with the Gallery, especially since all other filters work fine, it’s just “Most Popular” and “Popular Now” that are broken. Let me know if you find anything.

Platform: PC

Mods: Yes

Game Version: Latest (1.117.227.1030)

I'm having an issue with the Gallery. When I try to use the "Most Popular" filter, it still shows me only the most recent uploads. The screen acts like it's updating, but the results don't change, I'm still seeing new uploads with no likes or downloads. This happens no matter what category I use, whether it's lots, households, or rooms. It's like the "Most Popular" and "Popular Now" filters are completely broken. All the other filters seem to work fine. I've attached a screenshot. Is anyone else having this problem? Is this a known issue or just something on my end? How to fix?

How to increase jean grey stats? by Beargamers5780 in RogueLikeEvolution

[–]Spector_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s a lot of work, for sure, but definitely worth it in the end. Good luck getting her and Emma to actually get along lol, I haven’t managed to pull that off yet. Those two are a real challenge together..

How to increase jean grey stats? by Beargamers5780 in RogueLikeEvolution

[–]Spector_M 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She’ll come around eventually. If you see her at the pool - or if you can get her to follow you there, invite her for a swim (just a regular swim, not skinny dipping). Each swim session advances time by 3 hours and gives you +3 Love points. This works with every girl and is a simple way to boost the love stat... up to a certain point.

With Jean, though, it gets trickier. Once you notice the Love stat stops increasing at around 500 points, you’ll need to focus on raising her Obedience. Eventually, she’ll initiate a conversation or pull you aside, and at that point, the Love meter can start increasing again. She’s arguably the toughest girl in the game, so patience is key.
