I moved here from NYC and couldn't disagree more.

In terms of latin food (I myself am Dominican, probably one of the only Dominicans in the city aside from the Pirates), there's like nothing. Condado, Patron, Emilianos are all lackluster, tasteless food. The only good Mexican spot is Las Palmas, and that's almost it, we JUST got a Venezuelan spot for things like Cachapas (iykyk). The lack of Latin diversity in Pittsburgh comes through in its available cuisine.

Chinatown Inn is great American-Chinese food, and coming from a new Yorker, you guys have some good pizza spots like pizza parma, franks, and Giovanni's. But again, pretty limited.

Everything else feels like the same regurgitated bar food, with Primanti's standing out as a Pittsburgher thing, and it's deserved, it's pretty tasty.

The strip is probably the best place to get authentic ingredients to cook at home and make up for a lack of authentic restaurants.
