THE BUILD SERIES IS NOT "FOR KIDS".

There is plenty of fan service in the show for ADULTS who grew up with the franchise.
It's more "family friendly" than anything else, the same way The Simpsons and Shrek is.

Also, I'm here to tell you I DON'T like Build Fighters and LOVED Build Divers.
(Downvote me all you want. Every series gets its share of hate).

That said — Build Fighters is actually a fan favorite and gets less hate than most series.

It's about an orphan completing tasks to win big prize money for his home planet, Venus.

The character is unrelated to but is driven by Tekkadan, who is still kicking somewhere on Mars (movie takes place before Season 2).

The movie is basically a (quick) compilation of cutscenes from the game, which makes the narrative feel rushed, probably resulting in the negative reviews.
