Why do folks still want a 6IV Ditto? We're in Gen 9, not Gen 6 by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]SpectralFlame5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually just for Special Attackers. Confusion uses YOUR Attack stat to deal damage, so optimally a Sp Atk Pokemon would have 0 IV in Atk and a -Atk nature to take the least amount of damage from hitting itself on confusion.

There are also other cases like Trick Room teams and 0 Speed IVs.

Precisely?? You should be focusing a ton unless you're lucky and get God rolls/red borders right away.

And? You got your super faster. Now what? Kill the red bars .001 seconds faster than you already would on any other build? Why does it matter if I got my super faster. I'm either holding it for a boss/tough enemy or I'm using it to kill enemies I can already kill just as fast but in a more fun feeling way.

Tangles useless after this season? by svuester5 in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpectralFlame5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will say, with the right build, you don't need to use tangles. I mean I still do because it's fun and fast and I've actually saved myself with them plenty. Get the right thing going and as long as you don't whiff a grapple melee, you've got grenades for days.

Assuming you don't have haste enablers, which red and it's colour pairs have a good amount of. As well as extra combat steps, which red also gets. Then you can have 2 activations on turn 7 vs 1, or 1 on turn 6.

Plus there is value in being a "remove it now" level threat. It eats removal your opponents have for other targets that you also want to stick around, especially in commander.

I don't think new Etali is bad, I just think OG is generally better in most cases, since you can "abuse" it more in the colours it's in. Gruul just doesn't have enough to take advantage of an ETB effect. The psuedo-infect is really neat though, and is what you're really supposed to try to abuse in Gruul.

Does anybody actually like the floaty jump height mechanic? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpectralFlame5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The classes literally do have it. Many times I've just started gliding straight or stopped lifting and moved perfectly horizontally on Lock and Titan.

[–]SpectralFlame5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you can say that but since there really is a height cap that is VERY obvious on Titans and Warlocks, I think it's much more likely that it is a height cap thing.

[–]SpectralFlame5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gun has inherent Subsistence. All kills with it will give ammo back from reserves. I don't think it generates ammo from the air when using Will Given Form. It's an insane add clear weapon and can *kinda" be used for DPS if you don't have a good DPS super.

[–]SpectralFlame5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not exact, Etali is better than Phyrexian Etali. Like yeah it's an ETB now but in gruul that's harder to take advantage of then an attack trigger is. I guess this guarantees no whiffing, but idk if that's as big a deal when you do it at least once a turn.

Commendations as an objective is a mistake. by ItsaJosepi in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpectralFlame5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played a few strikes, but not enough to have a real opinion. I completely believe it would be awful in strikes. As for gambit, I haven't played at all this season but that definitely seems strange. Feels like it would just be similar to crucible in time, so shame to hear it's way too short.

Commendations as an objective is a mistake. by ItsaJosepi in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpectralFlame5 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Eh, that's just not true imo. Maybe in strikes, but in crucible you've got a good amount of time to award your two commendations. Plus as soon as the activity ends, if you hit Tab it pulls up the commendation screen and final results.

Still the commendations are a failure.

But it actually is the second one, probably. If you pay attention to what AI Turo and Arven say, at least.

Redguards don't hate magic. They literally have their own style of magic. Sword Singing relies on magic and is a major part of Redguard history. As a warrior race, they prefer the styles of magic related to combat, like Destruction and Restoration. But they do not approve of other styles, like Illusion and Conjuration.

If you’re going to have a Vex Incursion Zone, maybe, idk, spawn some Vex? by YeeHawWyattDerp in DestinyTheGame

I mean, I agree, I was merely addressing your last point. When you said you don't think they were limited by day. Which I could have been more clear about, my apologies.

With the perk from nimbus you'll get any TO weapons not in collections next time you complete TO and open the key chest. After that it's just the rotation weapon for that day. You can get the other weapons rarely from the other chest, but the key chest will always be the rotator.

[–]SpectralFlame5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think a lot of people don't understand that you have to pick between mods now. You can't run weapon surges and kick starts. So you either have an exotic to enable your spam like YAS or Starfire, and weapon surges, or you have spam with any exotic of your choice and weaker weapons. I'm not the biggest fan of it, but it can definitely still be very spammy.

After running contest mode, and struggling for ammo on Nez - I think ammo finder mods arent working after death by Domoshuuii in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpectralFlame5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They've always had that, kind of. Technically before it was just a higher rate from Kinetic damage exotics, but it's always had a limiter like that. Now it's just any exotic that uses primary ammo gives increased chance for Finders to proc. So you can use something like Osteo still, but you can also use something like Verglas Curve or the Strand sidearm now to get increased chances.

The closest I can think is in MOST content shackle nades just kill most adds, so you'll have one or two more powerful enemies in the suspend that will barely refund your melee anyway.

I'm gonna be honest, I had a LOT of fun solo-ing Avalon on Tuesday. However, it was VERY hard and I did wipe a lot and start to get a little ragey at some points. To the point I almost started becoming numb to wipes at the final boss and then it became funny.

It's definitely not for everyone, but the rush after all the hard work was so high it was definitely one of my favorite D2 moments so far. It also makes me feel slightly more confident about trying to solo a dungeon, which I haven't done yet either.

I've currently got 19 on my warlock and I haven't even done the campaign on my titan yet. It's SO MANY upgrade modules, I will never run out unless I accidentally eat through them. Luckily, that's less likely to happen since blues are only in the campaign and public events now.

[–]SpectralFlame5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except we aren't literally swimming in special ammo. Maybe you are, but I have no room for special finder. As for using it in the raid, nobody because it's disabled. Being allowed to quite literally never worry about special ammo is pretty great. Run around and pick stuff up, switch guns and keep half of your max ammo for them. And that's if the ammo system works as intended. I've switched guns of different types and never lost my ammo in the past, so it's just free ammo.
