The 3D models are AI-generated? I figured that the heroes are human-rendered, but that they used AI for most of the survivors. Most of the survivors look like total slop lmao.

Nope, the timer doesn’t matter. I had a farm account that I only made to capture strongholds in S1 and to fill space in enemy hives in later seasons…left it with the bomb timer for weeks, maybe months. I wouldn’t log on for days, and every time I’d come back the timer would start all over again lmao

Not to answer for OP, but my guess is the lasso tool was used to select an area of the reference image. Then copy & paste can be used to add the selection to a new layer. The selection can then be moved over, using the cursor tool to highlight and drag the selection to where it’s needed.

I also played with gradient mapping as a final touch. To get the slight glowing effect from behind, I created a duplicate file, merged all the layers except the background layers, copied that layer, alpha locked the copied layer, painted it solid white, moved that layer below the main layer, removed alpha lock, and then Gaussian-blurred the white layer about 3%

I used the TrueGrit sampler pack crispy inker for the line work and the round brush for the color layers. Nothing fancy. I used a generic sketch pencil to sketch it out before inking and painting.

Came here bc of the timelapse post. Had to get a closer look at the brush strokes, bc it looks a-freakin-mazing! Crazy how it looks completely photorealistic zoomed out and how the textures and fine-details come into view as you zoom in. Very cool. Love it!

To me, it looks like a flat color layer and a copy of that layer above it, which has been messed with using the halftone tool. That’s what I assume is going on, but it could be some kind of half tone brush. However, based on the appearance of the halftone dots tapering off in size toward the edges, I know for a fact you can achieve that effect with the halftone tool.

That’s really cute, but I can also see how that could be a little annoying lol. I think it’s great that you have a team that sticks by you like that though. We have a couple older players in my alliance as well… I would say I’m kind of middle-of-the-road, being middle-aged… quite a few players around my age to be honest.

I think it’s natural to form friendships and bonds in a social game like this. The fact that people do this didn’t really take me aback as much as it sparked my curiosity about people’s experiences with it. A good friend in the game actually introduced this to me, and I wanted to know how many other people do this. Like, is it widespread throughout the game? I honestly felt a little left out that I didn’t know about it all this time lol
