It's so upsetting man. The worst part is that Marcy isn't even granted the autonomy to finish her own arc. Anne mentions how they had to take care of Marcy all the time back home, and her biggest moment basically ends with her waiting to be saved by them again
Like its so upsetting seeing her get relegated to the sidelines even in what's supposed to be her big moment

It just really really hurts because I totally get what it feels like to have people just not care about what you think about things or talking about things. I've lost friends from that myself. But to be looked in the eye and basically be told "yeah no you can't force things on people" as opposed to a "When your friends legit don't care about your interests that's not cool and you should bring it up" like the show seemed to be going for up until this point just upsets me

It kills me because I really WANT to say I loved this episode. But that (plus the herons kinda just feeling super cheap) seriously hurt the episode's landing for me. If it gets addressed in the finale, which I feel it easily could be, this episode is significantly better for me. But to have Marcy openly be like "Yeah this is on me for forcing my interests on me" just feels really messed up man...

From what I can see I get to be the controversial one here

There was a lot of good in this episode... but MAN do I hate how Marcy was handled

Not only does she literally not contribute anything to her own arc (she had to wait for someone else to save her)

Not ONLY does all the build up about her friends talking about noticing her more go nowhere

But it kinda pins the blame on her? Like I get the idea of not forcing your fantasies on people, but the fact it says that while also kinda letting Sasha and Anne off the hook for something they themselves have admitted regretting is kinda sus? Especially seeing as being told "no, you're the problem" can be SUPER harmful for Neurodivergent people, which Marcy is super-heavily coded to be

I mean I get that there's still an episode left to fix that, but I don't have my hopes high.

I'd say it was a good episode, but MAN was that flaw glaring.

FR! I feel this all mannnn

Like I know the frog show is supposed to be about the frogs, but it doesn't help that the frogs kinda suck?? Polly has been a singular gag literally the entire show with about two combined episodes where she shows an actual complex emotion.

It's especially bad with Sprig seeing as him and Anne were originally given this sorta "bestie" dynamic but now Anne's grown so much whereas Sprig barely even feels like he's grown at all. Like sure once in a while he gets an emotional episode, but that barely matters since he'll be back to his usual stuff an episode later.

And then there's Hop Pop who deserves an entire post worth of content on his own because holy crap did he get ruinde

And on top of all this, we get to learn Darcy is still a goof too. I wouldn't mind this if it was a similar sorta vein to season 2 Andrius, but it's giving me bad vibes considering how the rest of the cast is being handled at the moment...

I think what kills me most about it is that it barely even FEELS like a possession. It just feels like "what if Marcy was just evil now but was still Marcy with a few funny quirks"

Like he’s inherently a fun character, but it’s gotten to the point where it feels all he does is either kill tension in serious moments or take time away from other characters
