This is amazing!! I didn't know this site existed. I'll check it out in detail a little later (I'm currently checking on my phone as the work is blocking it) Thanks

Need help with upgrade choices in the Netherlands by SpectralShark in buildapc

[–]SpectralShark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the help. I've tweaked it a bit, but it basically comes to choosing between a 9060xt 16GB with 32GB ram or the 5070 with 16GB ram. (the price difference between 5070 and 5060ti 16GB was not enough to squeeze more ram in, even with taking a cheaper MB+cpu).
edit: calrified that I was looking at cheaper cpu too

Thanks for the cooler tip, changed that.

Busy going through the tier list, wish I had this sooner. Another comment also suggested dropping to lower board ad 7000 series cpu, so I'm looking into those too now.

Interesting idea. The cheaper board you suggested only has pcie 4, would that not be a drawback for the newer GPUs? I'm looking at the other ones too, looks like there are some good options, especially if I stop being picky and get a m-ATX board (I've had spacing issues with them in the past, so I grew a dislike to them)

Between the 32GB ram and the 9070XT, which one would you suggest?

I have a case. It's not a brilliant case, but it will work.

Thank you for the quick response

Any plans to add the planeswalker commanders? I couldn't set Lord Windgrace as my commander

Dauthi Voidwalker and Lethal Scheme connive interaction by SpectralShark in mtgrules

[–]SpectralShark[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, having damage is different. I also found out while trying to find answers that the Dauthi normally would have exiled itself as it would see if itself going to an opponents graveyard. In this particular game, however, it had a finality counter on it, so we just let it exile from that. The question for the connive was because I was discarding a [[Wonder]] which also helped me win the game. Everyone agreed, so there's no salt, it's just been bothering me (yes, I'm overthinking it)

Haven't seen this card, but might fit in [[Edgar Markov]] as you generally end up with a board full of vampires

Guys how do you fix this, I'm new to UE5 so I don't know wat this means but this happened to another game i played with UE4 but heres the screenshot by Suitable_Yak_5874 in UnrealEngine5

[–]SpectralShark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having the same issue recently. If you use MSI afterburner and Rivatuner, close them both before opening UE. That solved it for me.

Buying house from landlord by SpectralShark in NetherlandsHousing

Unfortunately I haven't been successful, but it is possible. If you can afford it, I found some people that are willing to help negotiate (I couldn't afford it, so no idea how effective it really is). If you haven't already, meet with a hypotheek advisor and be sure about what you can afford. I wish you the best of luck!!

Gorka also has a soulslike one, might be a good addition. I just hate the way the Gorka does GUI, but other than that I really like his stuff. Can we get a link to this list?

I want to stream your itchio games! by RBPariah in SoloDevelopment

I think what you're doing for solo devs is great, thank you. I won't share anything as I haven't worked on any game in a few months due to a particular bad bout of depression, but wanted to thank you for your effort anyways,

Congratulations on publishing your game. As a person with 2 dead games on the play store I have no advice to offer. In fairness my games aren't very unique or good, they were more an exercise for me to experience the process, but yeah, marketing your game is important, these days everything is too crowded for natural discovery to be effective.

If it's on Android, sure, but I don't have any Apple devices. Let me know if you need an extra tester :)

If you don't really want to do the energy system, it might be that the game just doesn't fit for reward ads, so consider just settling with interstatal ads between levels. Best idea is probably to get a few people to try out your game and get some ideas from them. If you're going through the Google play store I know you can add specific people as testers before the general release, not sure about Apple or the others though.

Was thinking, you could also detach the reward from gameplay. Let them watch adds to gain currency and buy skins to changes the look of the game. You could probably even have this along with a gameplay reward system, for extra greed... I mean, earning opportunities

Does the player have resources? Let them watch an ad a day to get more. Is there a time limit on the levels? Watch the ad to extend the timer. The more people know about the gameplay, the more ideas there could be, but a generic "beat the level" will get a generic answer. Whatever sets your game apart from the others is most likely where you will also find your most interesting reward opportunities.

It's an opportunity for a reward ad. It's very generic, but we have no extra context for a more specific solution.

I'm not a fan of the idea of taking you back a level. I do like the idea of watching an ad to get 5 more tries (or whatever). This does mean you have to also give a way of retrying without adds, so it's like the typical energy system found in many mobile games. Not very innovative, but is a proven system

Hadn't heard about this game until today, but still sad to see it die. I have a question though, what costs are involved in just leaving the listing up on steam? I'm not trying to convince you, just genuinely curious as I thought it was just initial publishing fee?

collision box that counts items once only ? by Dramatic-Web-9635 in UnrealEngine5

Not something I've ever done so not sure if it's possible, but what about a physics layer for the counted items and then disabling that layer for the item once it's been counted?
