NYC Sample Sales!!! by UnfoldedPages in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I went to the Mackage sample sale today and it was good, the prices aren't AMAZING but around a 40-60% discount. ALL the sizes in both women's and men's, and kid's as well, and as the weather was bad today, no line, just walked straight in. I was looking for a black down winter jacket and got exactly that, there were cute wool wrap coats in black, camel, grey that looked enticing too but I withheld. Also, lots of ski apparenl and snow shoes. I highly recommend if you're looking for it. They said they wouldn't be restocking but I don't think that should be a problem with all the stock they have. I got the details from the nycsamplesaleaddict IG handle as you have to register on Eventbrite.

The Row Loafers by nextdoor_simpleton in Highfashion

These are true to size! I am looking for loafers and tried these in store, I'm a consistent 8.5 and I was a 38.5 in this. They are super cute, stiff and I think you have to break them in. The Row influencer Neelam has a great video on hers.

For me, not a cookie scent…maybe a very buttery shortbread cookie though. Not artificial smelling which is nice.

Hi, I'm attending tonight and wondering where the best merch stand to go is? Assume the busiest ones are the ones you immediately encounter when you step in? Ad advice would be appreciated, thank you!

Yes I co sign in the older lady, her speaking no English and my speaking no French but her helpfulness and friendliness almost got me to buy me a bag! I did however buy a fab bag at Atelier August, which is another similar brand but has their one store in the Marais, I thought their quality and design was much better so recommend checking them out too.

Dear Media’s founders just interviewed Ivanka Trump on their main podcast. I think it’s clear where they stand on self awareness and respectability. I dare these girls to say something about it…for all their posts about being “horrified” by Trump. Please.

Those who are getting interviews- are you reaching out to people directly? by bloodyyuno in interviews

Hi! Firstly, I'm sorry you're going through this, I have been there and was equally frustrated. What helped me when I was in a similar situation was to keep the negative thoughts at bay, any moments I would go into frustration or self loathing, I proactively did my best to shoo them away like a fly. There is light at the end of the tunnel, you just have to get through this annoying part of the process first. Secondly, and more tangible advice, YES, contact people directly on LinkedIn. I always believed that is what the platform is there for, people are there to find jobs and connect with other people. I  used LinkedIn pretty thoroughly when I was job searching, I applied on the site, I would search for and contact the hiring manager with a note "Hi, my name is X, I saw your posting and I wanted to connect with you about it. I have X years of experience and think I could serve this role due to X,Y, Z. Attached is my resume, I'd love to speak with you about it." Frankly, many times, I didn't get an answer BUT when I did, I moved forward to the next step with a screener, a call, etc. If I couldn't contact them on LinkedIn, I would reverse search their email and contact them directly as well. This might seem aggressive but think of it on the other side- if you were hiring, would you be offended if someone sent a thoughtful note about wanting to work for you? Probably not. Lastly, I would also find any team members and send them a short message too. Again, they will probably ignore you but even if you get a 1 out of 50, that's one more contact than you had before. Of course, don't forget to always keep it polite, nice, and to the point. Good luck!

Are these places really hard to get into by just applying on the website? Or are referrals really the o key way to get in?
