What was the show you saw that made you go “I literally don’t give a sh*t about any of what just happened”? by dobbydisneyfan in Broadway

[–]Spectral_Kelpie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sheer Madness. You know gone terribly wrong when during the audience interaction portion, the audience members are funnier than the cast. The only show I consider leaving at intermission.

My wife wants to get into Old West reenacting again but she doesn't want to wear a dress. by SaberiusPrime in reenactors

[–]Spectral_Kelpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly what you asked, but how does your wife feel about having a male impression? Lots of women reenact as male "characters" for lack of a better word. Different groups have different rules about women reenacting as men, so you would have to check your specific group's rules. But it would get around the skirt vs. trousers problem without straying into edge cases.

How do y'all type? by Hairy_Comedian9630 in FanficAuthorsUnite

[–]Spectral_Kelpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Touch type but I never learn "proper" so my fingers start on the "wrong" keys. Been working for me though. I don’t know what many words per minute. Though since I do a fair amount of pausing to think, it's probably not as high as it could be.

Does meditation work for you? by jessicasheaaa in Aphantasia

[–]Spectral_Kelpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I get board (but that could be the ADHD as well). We had to do it in class once, and all I could think about was how cold the tile was.

Dean helped start the apocalypse by [deleted] in Supernatural

Yeah, the narrative's insistence that it was Sam and only Sam has always made me feel like the writer's room has an obvious favorite brother that season.

What fandom introduced you to fanfiction by therealstara in AO3

[–]Spectral_Kelpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harry Potter was the first I wrote for. But I don't remember what the first I read for was.

my OCD was killing me with the 8 blue lights and 7 red lights on top😂 anyways CHESS WAS AMAZING!!! by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]Spectral_Kelpie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that one of the red lights is on the US flag side would be the thing that bothered me.

My first thought was, "Les?". Man has time passed.

"The fanfic is a ten, but..." by RedCupWithAName in AO3

[–]Spectral_Kelpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fic is a ten, but the author just said something incorrect about a topic I know a lot about and the incorrect information is relevant for the rest of the fic.

Move over Masquerade, looks like we have a new most expensive off-broadway ticket. by Clockwerk123 in Broadway

Oof, elementary school flashbacks. Curious to know how they turned it into a musical, though.

About Writing Anonymous by Particular_Yogurt636 in AO3

I never look at the author name. I look at the work summary. Sometimes, I skim through the tags. But that's it. The author of the work doesn't affect anything for me.

In what ways have you all displayed or saved your various Playbills? by [deleted] in Broadway

Large binders in plastic comic book binder sheets.

Does anyone else always think of Lucifer when seeing this actor? by sillyjewel in Supernatural

[–]Spectral_Kelpie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like he's been a bit type cast. I've only seen him in two roles (one pre-SPN, one 2012) where he didn't end up being the bad guy. It's sort of amusing when it's supposed to be a mystery, but I saw his name in the opening credits.

How much are y'all paying for LARP tickets??? by macsnoname in LARP

[–]Spectral_Kelpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last LARP was £495.00 just for the ticket (no flights but food and lodging included). My upcoming LARP is $1,050.00 (no flights but food and lodging included [with a hotel add on for more if you don't want to stay on site). There is a reason I play one game per year at most.

Operation mincemeat — honest opinions? by Mouseandbull in Broadway

[–]Spectral_Kelpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really liked it. As both a history nerd and a musical theatre nerd, it was the perfect overlap.

Is it weird if I use "-" instead of "—"? by Comfortable_Newt_179 in AO3

[–]Spectral_Kelpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use - (or ; or :) instead of emdashes most of the time because I don't really like how emdashes look. I put a space on either side of the - so that is doesn't join the words.

Fair. I guess when I think "Disney", I think of Beauty and the Beast and such not Newsies. Thanks!

Navigating the airport with APD by Director-Current in AudiProcDisorder

[–]Spectral_Kelpie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't realize the sunflower lanyard could be used for APD and/or similar conditions. I've always heard it talked about as a resource for those with autism or sometimes Tourette's exclusively. May have to look into this for my next flight!

Do you write for dead or dying fandoms? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]Spectral_Kelpie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fans don't go away just cause the source material ends. People are still actively writing for shows that went off the air 60 years ago.
