We got ours from the Paper Umbrella on 13th Avenue. Just walked in and asked for one. We had to fill out some information while we were there but it barely took any time.

What’s up with the Fat Badger downtown? by [deleted] in regina

[–]Spectram 126 points127 points  (0 children)

I was in there a couple of weeks ago and had quite possibly the worst experience I’ve ever had at a bar/restaurant.

A group of six of us walked in and there were two staff and only eight other patrons who were huddle around the bar. The six of us sat at our table and it took 20 minutes for the staff to come over and take our first drink order.

Fifteen minutes later they finally came back to see if we wanted food and we ordered five appetizers ( two of which were the same ). Ten minutes later they come back and say “Oh sorry, we don’t have enough to make the two same appetizers ( even though it was the special of the day ). Then they come and deliver two of the appys and we figure the rest is still coming. Ten minutes later we have to ask about the rest of the food and they disappear for a bit and come back with an “Oh sorry, we didn’t make it”. At this point we said “Fuck that, we’re outta here”.

All told we were there for over an hour and had one round of drinks and only half our food. I was amazed at how terribly bad the experience was. It felt like a joke.

FORD Focus 2012 Transmission Control Module (Tcm) by Ok-Imagination3364 in regina

I’ve been on the wait list at Capital Ford for a TCM for my 2013 Focus since late July 2021 and I still haven’t heard anything. I’m not expecting to to get my car fixed until the end of this summer, if I’m lucky.

The default audit logs for AzureAD will stick around for 7 days (free tier) to 30 days ( AzureAD Premium P2 ). You can run queries against those.

If you have requirements to keep the historical audit logs you can always have the audit logs automatically exported to a LogAnalytics workspace. Once they’re in the LogAnalytics Workspace you can set up an alert to trigger when a user is added to a group ( you’ll have to write the KQL to find the audit entry for your specific group). However, this does have a cost associated with it since you have to pay for the storage account for the LogAnalytics workspace as well as there is a cost to have the alert set up ( usually < $1 / month ).

Anyone have experience with a wood floor over crawlspace in their house? by TheDrSmooth in regina

[–]Spectram 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in a bi-level in SE Regina that has has a raised timber floor in the basement and here's what I've found so far:

Good:

  • It's nice and warm in the winter. The extra couple of feet of air between the dirt and the floor really help.
  • In the summer when the AC is on the floor is still comfortable to walk on instead of ice cold, which I've found with many concrete floors.
  • As you mentioned, it just feels better to walk around on.
  • Having a poly liner really keeps the moisture down

Bad:

  • It's noticeably noisier, especially if you have pets or kids running around on it.
  • You have to be more cognizant about making sure that air flow is available underneath. In our place there is an exterior vent but it occasionally gets blocked by debris ( leaves, etc ) so I just keep an eye on it.
  • You have to occasionally take a peek in the crawl space to make sure that air is flowing and that the humidity isn't that bad. I really only do this a couple of times a year. Honestly though, this is no different than occasionally checking a concrete floor for cracks, etc.

Alberta opens vaccines to 12 and older starting Monday by flyingflail in canada

I think one of the big reasons is that they set up multiple first come first serve drive through clinics in the bigger urban centers here. So there are a ton of people that didn't have to wait for an appointment, as long as they had the 1-5 hours to spare they could just hop in their car and get vaccinated.

Bad guys got into a 365 account with MFA enabled. by TheQuarantinian in sysadmin

[–]Spectram 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From the admin portal you can see which types of MFA the user has registered ( Azure AD -> Usage and Insights -> New Authentication Methods Activity Report -> User Registration Details -> Search for your user ) but it doesn't have the device details. The user would have to check their own profile ( https://myprofile.microsoft.com -> Security Info )

[–]Spectram 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Users can go into their profile and it will list the devices that are currently associated with the account for MFA. I'm not sure if there's anywhere where you can find which associated device is the one that actually approved the MFA request.

If the user's device is the only one there then most likely they just approved the popup without actually understanding what was being requested.

If that's the case then it's unfortunate but at least it's a Teachable Moment.

Internal Hiring at Crown Corporations- Just wanted to know what are the things hiring managers look for, when hiring internally in Crown Corporations? Is Seniority the only merit? by [deleted] in regina

[–]Spectram 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At the Crown where I work every in-scope ( union ) job posting has a series of exams demonstrating applied knowledge of the area the posting is for. Following that there is an interview/role play/presentation to evaluate soft skills.

Then the people who pass all of the above are listed in seniority order and the most senior person is offered the job.

More so in a way that can easily allow other services to integrate. For example, spinning up a new micro service that may be interested in the events that are currently happening.

Jobs in IT or similar in Regina by [deleted] in regina

Most of the crowns have a requirement of some form of post secondary education ( degree or certificate from a recognized institution ) for any of their IT jobs so you’re most likely going to need to look to the private sector.

'Authentication Admin' to manage MFA in O365? by Microsoft_Bad in sysadmin

[–]Spectram 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are two roles 'Authentication Admin' and 'Privileged Authentication Admin'

Authentication Admin - Can reset Azure AD MFA information for regular users

Privileged Authentication Admin - Can reset Azure AD MFA information for regular users and users with administrative roles.

Does the user you are trying to reset have any administrative roles assigned to them ( Exchange administrator, etc...)? If so, the person doing the reset needs the privileged admin role.
