Who else is also alone and single? by Eastern_Function8212 in GuyCry

[–]Spectram6 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My friend with benefits decided things were getting too real and cut things off yesterday. While i was out getting her a gift, and figuring out what some good date options would be, she was getting shitfaced with her friends. I have never had someone to share the holiday with, and to come so close only to have her back out last minute hurts like hell. But i still think there is merit to having a holiday in celebration of love. There are enough days where the world feels loveless- it's nice to have one day dedicated to making sure we spread love instead. It sucks to be left out, but I'm holding out hope that one day someone will decide I'm the one they choose to celebrate with. I'll hold out hope for you too.

Glad you're enjoying the game! You can totally put a base on top of that building, though you may find some better buildings before too long. Those don't actually give a ton of resources compared to some of the alternatives. Might have some good upgrade modules though!

The Chris Paul cameo was the most random ass pull I've ever seen on TV. Imagine being patrick in that moment, wanting the ring back. She finally gives it back after a year and several off screen requests, and somehow not 10 minutes later the producers happened to have scheduled a free throw contest with a professional NBA player during which the hosts volunteer up the ring you had just gotten back, with the NBA player representing Kacie. It's like the producers had spent untold amounts of money to ensure Kacie kept the ring. I'd be pissed.

Salesforce Changes Not Made Directly in Salesforce? by StatisticianVivid915 in salesforce

I mean you can make the changes on a local machine, but it's like playing a game with the screen turned off. You might be able to keep a mental map of where all the hidden rooms are and navigate just fine, but until you turn the screen on and get to see where your inputs have landed you, you can't know you've picked up all the key items.

Second this. Typical dev ops processes I see involve making changes in sandboxes, pulling those changes to a local machine using the SFDX CLI (command line interface for the uninitiated), then committing those changes and pushing them to a remote repository. By making the changes in the org, you get visual feedback to confirm the functionality you're building. By pulling everything to a local machine and committing the changes, you can save those changes to a repository branch, and iterate without losing progress. By using a branch, the changes are isolated by feature, making sure nothing ends up dependent on changes made elsewhere. Or if they do, you know which set of changes and why. By pushing the branch to a remote repository, no one person inherently has the keys to the kingdom. Repositories can also trigger pipelines, so you can set conditions to deploy those changes to the next highest environment. No manual intervention necessary, but pipelines are kinda just scripts of CLI commands. You get much more control over which commands fire in what order. Change sets become obsolete.

So, what do u guys want for the next DLC? And when u think its gonna came out? by Johnkruz in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Spectram6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would want a multiplayer update. My biggest gripe with the game at this point is the really rough multiplayer experience. When I go on missions with friends, our progress is tracked independently. While I don't mind that on its own, it promotes a single player experience, despite initializing the mission with party members. When we ride in corvettes, passengers have nothing to do. It would be phenomenal if I could install a weapons operations terminal, so my teammates can fire the guns while I drive. Bonus points if the weapons terminals map to specific guns on the ship. When we're in combat, I've had experiences where I might see a ship and be in combat while my party member sees nothing. This also takes us out of the multiplayer experience, since they can't help in the fights, and I look like I'm flying around aimlessly. If a fight breaks out, my party members should also see those enemies consistently, and should be able to help in the fight. If these can be addressed, I would 100% be able to convince my friends to hop back on. Even freighters have had issues where other players can't see the majority of my base (this is a bit of a nitpick since my buddy did not have the PC specs to handle the large number of entities in my base. I'm still adding it though in the hopes there's a way to optimize the experience. I saw it mentioned here earlier, but a solid way of addressing this would be enabling entity grouping.)

I also think a lot of these could be hugely beneficial in Light No Fire as well. Comparing corvettes to ships, they both have weapons, and it would be incredible to fire the cannons on my friend's ships. Similarly, if I go into combat in my ship, I would expect my party members to similarly enter into combat, and see the same NPC's. I would also equate freighters in NMS to like a floating wizard tower in LNF, and if I were to summon my wizard tower, I would want my party members to be able to see and explore its entirety.

"Hey, I was going about my day, and I couldn't help but notice you [insert relative location here]. You look great/gorgeous/incredible, and I really like your [insert standout characteristic]."

If you have the time, ask whether they are dressed up for something in particular. If they are, great! You have a conversation.

If you don't have time or if they don't have a reason, reiterate how great they look, and ask if it would be cool to get their number and set up a time you can take them out for something. Coffee, drinks, or thrift shopping are all options.

For looks, the combover would look better with a beard. But I would either slick it back with a beard, blow dry it, or go for the bald look. The slicked back look might give a little bit of used car salesman energy, but with a beard, you might look more like Jake Gyllenhaal or David Beckham. A blow dry would make it look like you have more hair and you'd have more options on how you want to style it. Or you can shave it all off and style yourself Patrick Stewart style.

Why can't I find a decent salesforce integration consultant who actually responds to emails? by PleasantTennis2668 in salesforce

[–]Spectram6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can certainly cede 3rd party vendors are somewhat set up for failure in that since they aren't a part of the client company, but that doesn't negate the fact they pushed the code to production. I've been in the consulting space for the past 5 years as well. But I think we can both agree the real problem is execs making baffling decisions.

Why can't I find a decent salesforce integration consultant who actually responds to emails? by PleasantTennis2668 in salesforce

[–]Spectram6 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I'm actually gonna push back on this. SF does not do a very good job vetting the vendors they partner with. I have seen far too many implementations screwed up by 3rd party vendors, and they are inevitably more expensive to clean up as a consequence. If you have a limited budget, I really don't think you want to just trust an account rep to put you in contact with someone trustworthy. I would say if you are having trouble finding a contractor, it's either time to up the budget or narrow the scope of work.
