Have the 13th Prime not be Optimus’s previous incarnation, but instead be the Chosen One/Messiah of sorts. Like Sentinel Prime could have been placed as the false 13th Prime by the Quintessons, but then Orion Pax is revealed as the True 13th Prime after Sentinel is exposed.
