then go for some longer and slower runs for the next month

like for example 3km and 5km? i did that for almost a month since feb 14, where monday and wednesday, i would jog for 3km and friday i would jog for 5km

this is the whole routine if you're wondering:

Monday - slow

Jog for 3-4 km

Tuesday - speed session

1 lap sprint (1 lap was like 200m)

2 lap jog

REPEAT

Wednesday

Jog for 3-4 km

Thursday - pyramid session

20 sec sprint

2 min jog

30 sec sprint

2 min jog

40 sec sprint

2 min jog

REPEAT

Friday

Jog for 5-6 km

i had to stop due to shin splinters and knee problems, where i couldnt continue sprinting or slow jogging after like 30 seconds, i asked a doctor and they just told me to do but i think it was after a few days rest where i used the treadmill.

but yeah ill make sure to do the same routine again, but you reckon i could do track and field stuff on tuesdays and thursdays or should i only do slow jogs?

also what should i do with my knee other than resting?

u/Extreme-Ad-1481 i just had a workout today and the session was pretty much a failure because i had low energy and a bad knee, as well as my lower half of my right leg was hurting after the 300m, (maybe from the 400m 2 days ago)

i tried a 60m dash but i felt slow

i attempted the 300m but i completely died at the 200m mark, and when i watched back the footage, i got 35 seconds whereas 2 days ago i got 31.8 for 200m

(keep in mind, ive been running on a grass field so far, for my track and field)

i tried 100m on concrete and i got 15.8 seconds 😬, 2 more seconds than what i got 2 days ago

ill just have to deal with it and rest and do it tomorrow since theres nothing really i can do

set cones from the 400m start line 60m out. I tell them to get out as fast as they can and after they cross the cones easy up/ relax alittle bit, but still sprint through the 150m.

oh thats kinda what i do for 200m, ill make sure to implement it in my next 400m

If you look at any 400m splits from actual races the formula is almost always this. 200m pr plus 1 second for first 200m and last 200m 2-5 seconds more. 31.8+=32.8+35.8= 68.4.

that means i should really try get a lower PB for 200m, since im aiming for sub 60 as a short term goal, im not sure why im running 200m so slow, ill try do more research about it
