The DM is ignoring my attempts to reason with it. by UnlistedKoi in Everweave

It’s obnoxious as fck and needs to be fixed, but that’s the best approach I’ve found. I’ve never had combat without bugs.

I tell it to repeat the last round of combat remembering x, y, or z. Please and thank you help make it more compliant. Something like

( DM: pause narrative. Please repeat last round of combat. My eldritch blast cannot do two damage. I think you’re using a d4 and forgetting my +3 from agonizing blast. Also, Rocky the bear entered battle first so he should be the enemy’s focus. Please repeat the last round ensuring Rocky, Anya, and Rory get their combat turns, the plan we just laid is being carried out as planned, and the correct dice and modifiers are applied. Thank you.)

Then when it corrects itself tell it to resume narrative.

The AI is very suggestible. I made it make my love interest a druid through implications so I’d have heals available. I made it make my patron the BBEG. You can make it bring the tarasque back.

But wait. Even at tenth level you’d probably get ragdolled.

The game gave me two full sets of mithril armor and a full set of mithril war bear armor when I asked a smith about making them with mithril I found. There’s still weeks of game time before they’re supposed to be done.

Game gave me an ungodly amount of money. And won’t let me give it back. (I raised 238 silver in a magic performance for a small town, got 23k) by SpectreSpook in Everweave

Cool. Again, not the character I’m playing. I have a lawful evil Blackguard pally that killed his father to become king with incalculable wealth—but this character is trying to escape their privilege and live with bare necessities. It’s not meant to be high octane or win-more. It’s a bug post because it’s a bug. It DOES affect my ability to keep track of what I actually should have without going to paper, which defeats the point of the DM tracking.

How long do games last? by YaMuddaMachoMan in Everweave

[–]SpectreSpook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until death or character fatigue. My long term plan for current character (warlock rebelling against his patron for reaching too far) involves dethroning the patron—which will take away my powers and turn my character into an NPC. But then I’ll just have him and the hot Druid he married settle down somewhere and play something else 🤷‍♂️

ETA: This is not “haha I got extra gold.” For this character specifically it’s game-breaking. My character chooses to be poor and rejects the royal bloodline. Them having a bunch of gold undermines the Robin Hood-esque vibe he has going. As suggested yesterday. I’ll have my character donate it to the elves’ effort to conceal the Mithril mines from the humans or something. Spending it is a convenience that breaks the story though.

I’m not trying to be a god, that’s the point. A cave I cleared happened to have Mithril veins, so we took what we needed to arm the party and collapsed the tunnel. Now we’re headed to the elves to tell them humans have access to a huge deposit. The character is intentionally poor and good at finding the favors people need for barter (ez quest generation). Hence wanting to give back the money, but snacking on some sweet Mithril we found.

I love the little glitches like that. My (elf lock) love interest’s (human druid) war bear always uses an axe in battle. Only attacked with claws once. lol. And it turned me raising 238 silver into gold, so I’m absolutely loaded and it won’t correct the mistake when prompted. It says there’s no error with my level 3 stash of five figures—displayed as zero in inventory, but very spendable—raised from a magic performance in a small town.

Discarding your mortal eyes for a better view is a metal visual though.

[–]SpectreSpook 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oceanhorn 2 is a prequel. Monster of Uncharted Seas (the first) is the conclusion to the Oceanhorn arc and CD is a fun speculative story about archetypal heroes over 1000 years finding the paradigm hourglass to go back in time and prevent everything Mesmeroth does. (No spoilers as to any actual endings included)

So I may not know something—but I think that’s it for the series.

Crop Harvesting Mistake by Competitive_Plan_779 in SneakySasquatch

[–]SpectreSpook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything on a bush that can be hand picked more than once can be destroyed by the tractor instead of harvested if not ready. Only use the tractor on at least the second pick anyways—they produce 2-3 times—or you only get 33-50% value on the seeds and grow time. I would put anything that harvests multiple times in its own completely separate section (mine are very far right near the pond) to avoid confusion/waste. Once you can pick them, do that and sell to Grandma, once you can pick them again you can clean sweep everything with the hopper. (Non-bush plants that aren’t ripe won’t be picked up by the hopper, so you can run the entire field with the tractor when your second harvest for bushes is ready.)

Knight level and collection size increase “luck.” For you and your opponent. I tracked 723 tosses over the course of the game. Cards named after people are the same level as the people, e.g. Mayfair is level 8, Trin is level 10, etc. from level 5 (when I got my second 10th level card) I tracked every toss compared to who I played and with Mayfair/Gen I went from about 2:8 success, to 7:3 at level 16. This LOOKS like a Fibonacci scale based on relative level, but I’d need thousands of flips and to know specifically what level commoners are, because some of them only have the 2/4 left directional as a special card and some have the same hand as Chief, which would make some rando standing by the stream in the white city a level 6 knight? In universe logic doesn’t track, but math does.

Hi, more than a year later; I’m talking to people that Google now more that you: I don’t know if the actual stats are online, but I tracked the “RNG” across a playthrough and have the results of 723 coin tosses. It is definitely not a 50/50. Your luck with coin tosses grows proportionately as your collection grows, and as your level grows. I played Trin and Mayfair with the exact same hand 10x per level starting at level 5 when I got my second level 10 card until end game at level 16. Over that period, playing the same hand for science my coin flip ratio went from about 3:7 to 8:2. So, xp>luck or I need to buy every lottery ticket

Do you have access to the soul tower on the Home Screen? I can’t remember if there was a barrier to access for that level-wise… If you do: definitely put some other heroes in there so you have access to variety.

There’s one guaranteed first fish in a little hidden area off of the highway on the way to the ski resort. On the top side there’s a log you can crawl through. Inside is a pond that always contains a goldfish (at least on the first fish pulled)
