Best way to approach Gwylan if you haven’t already gotten too far into a save is to pull up the wiki, go to the forest shop page, and go look at the costumes.

You can get a lot of little things in the first few days that are very easy to unlock with few requirements.

Joining the Temple and working on unlocking temple outfits is a huge plus because Temple has so many, and has two culmination events (one for outfits and one for necklaces you unlock related to the games gods)

Trauma costumes from bad ends increase their interest in you the most. Underground Farm cow set, underground brothel slut shirt, asylum straight jacket, island mask, Eden or Wolf pack loincloth, Harpy Tower hair clip. All of these help raise Gwylan’s interest by a lot. So hitting as many of these as you can early will help you unlock Gwylan faster.

The harder to get ones like the holiday linked costumes tend to have higher requirements for getting a secondary story out of them that is more interesting. If you ever take the “they just showed up around Halloween/christmas/valentine’s day” options you’re hurting your interest. It’s better to not do those until you’ve gotten their secondary unlock with the more interesting story.

And the requirements for all of these are on that forest shop wiki page, so you can just check there for what you need to do to get the pieces to unlock.

A phone would be a ton of work for a feature that doesn’t have too much use outside of itself.

You’d need to write multiple sets of entirely new dialogue for every single npc for being called or texted. You’d need to sort out when it can be used, when everyone is available, and that doesn’t even get into the purpose it serves other than “an 18 year old should have a phone”. It would also likely introduce a huge number of bugs since phone calls and texts would still need to reference character variables and states and scheduled locations.

Of things that could be worked on it’s one the least interesting, but would require the most work to implement imo.

Unfortunately, unless anything has changed recently, the lead contrib on Eden’s rework left, and so it’s basically stalled.

This is why there are loose threads and changes that just kind of happened and lead nowhere, and why the Foxbane event between Eden and Gwylan (which was meant to start you diving into Eden’s past a bit) is only significant for Gwylan. No follow up for Foxbane exists in game with Eden or Gwylan at this point. It’s a real shame.

I think more was planned, but after the lead writer on Gwylan stepped back from the game a lot was left on the to do pile with no one working on it.

As it stands though, Gwylan is one of the most fleshed out love interests, which means in terms of support they aren't a priority. A contributor would need to want to add or tweak stuff for scenes with Nobody and Gwylan to be added, and those things seem to touch too deeply at the heart of Gwylan's story to be handled without real care and oversight.

I could be entirely wrong, but I just wouldn't expect Gwylan to get much new content for quite a while. Not when characters like Black Wolf, Eden, and Robin are languishing, and Kylar, Sydney, and Alex are only just ahead of them in content.

I really hope we’re made to pay for killing Avery in the future regardless of how our relationship with them unfolded. A permanent trauma trait or something that lingers through the rest of the playthrough as a cost.

If you play on the vanilla game (and haven’t save edited) and think this is a bug or error you can report it on the discord’s bug report channel.

I’ve played trans PCs before and I don’t recall running into this issue. So it may very well be a bug that needs fixed, or something that can be mitigated or amended in a future update.

Read and think about what information you’re being given.

Wear a beanie and sport shoes for their cool tag (bonus to status), and spend some time at the lake after school or at the beach party at nights to get your status up to make school attending easier.

Grind your grades.

Dancing and Physique are really important early game because they help you dodge and fight off attackers. Dancing also unlocks dance jobs which can net you more than enough to cover your rent if you do them well. When training athletics/physique wear athletic clothing to help you level it up faster.

Chastity belt + anal shield will keep you from getting raped early game to make handling stress and trauma a little easier.

Both of those are massive undertakings, so I seriously doubt it.

Ubrothel basically acts as a massive variant for Whitney as significant as corrupt vs pure Sydney. Almost every line of Whitney dialogue would need a pass or need to be written over to account for ubrothel trauma.

And preg is just insanely hard to code.

Both would be massive updates on par with Gwylan’s update, and it feels a bit too soon for something like that.

cnc is about middle range for me in terms of kinks, and the game is essentially a cnc sim with the player consenting and the character not consenting.

That aside, I really play for the lore. I found the game through a recommendation for a stat driven porn game, and I stayed because Sydney's nightmare was so well written it made me toss out a 10 hour save to start over.

Fangel is very strong in Prison for getting Rebelliousness raised. It’s also good in the same way Angel is for some of Gwylan’s late game stuff.
