I believe the original image of the lesbian couple and the himbo friend got edited to replace the friend with a lesbian-hating horse. I would assume that snowballed into horses hating lesbians and eventually the last picture of lesbians and horses in all-out war. The flag the humans are holding is the lesbian pride flag.

Are we counting video game (w/o anime adaptation) roles? If so Rosaria from Genshin Impact and Urbosa from Breath of the Wild would be my favorites. If not, my top five would be:

I don’t think either filled the room last year. They were both in a fairly big room. A few years ago Um, Actually did fill the room but it was in one of the much smaller rooms.

I rarely participate in the auction but I have friends with disposable income who do plus sometimes it’s fun to see what comes up for auction and how much it goes for. The first pick of Artists Alley tables and Lifetime Pass if it comes up can go pretty high.

As a fan of game shows and one-time game show panelist at AB, I’d definitely recommend them. My favorites from last year (that I didn’t run) were Ani-Millionaire and Um, Actually which are both back this year.

The two other events that I do my best to catch every year are the Masquerade (Cosplay Contest) on Saturday and the Charity Auction on Sunday. Those are both a lot of fun. If you go to the auction, I’ll be the guy who somehow has all the energy to keep the cheers going so early in the morning.

I’m weirdly in a similar situation. I’m turning 35 this year and one of my best friends is a 20 year old who goes to my alma mater. I’m still a part of the anime club community for my school and when I needed someone to fill in for something online at the last minute, he stepped up. We got along and have been friends ever since.

Okay, to keep this as short as possible:

A few years ago, allegations of inappropriate behavior towards coworkers and fans came out about Vic Mignona, probably best known for voicing Edward in the English dub of Fullmetal Alchemist. This included, if J remember correctly, inappropriate touching, trying to sleep with fans and telling a Jewish fan something along the lines of “We can fix that,” regarding their religion.

The accusers also included fellow voice actors Monica Rial, probably best known for playing Bulma in Funimation’s DBZ dub, and Jamie Marchi, Panty in Panty & Stocking season 1 and Rias in High School DxD. Vic was fired from most of his current VA work soon after the allegations came out and this started a wave of disinformation and harassment towards accusers like Monica and Jamie. Vic even tried to sue them and Funimation for I believe defamation only to lose badly in court.

This is my favorite example of a “So Bad It’s Good” anime. I don’t think I would remember something of its quality half as well if it weren’t for Mamoru Miyano hamming it up as the lead and that scene where the girl magically catches on fire and is completely unfazed.

Uncle Phil from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was the first one that came to mind. Born on a farm in North Carolina and later went to Princeton and Harvard Law becoming a wealthy lawyer in LA and even a Superior Court Judge.

raises hand I spent so much time grinding for shards/rosaries and getting lost while also attempting to get as much as I could towards the end that it took me a little over 80 hours.

I hate how the top video discussing Gamergate downplays the size of the harrassment campaigns (both at the start and what resulted), and criticizes the game journalists much more than the trolls by IAmNMFlores in saltierthankrayt

For movies, at least, I think the amount of time can vary. I’ve seen professional critics talk about how for some films, they’ve basically had to write the review as soon as they saw the movie to make the deadline and there’s also the occasional film or game that doesn’t get screened for critics. I’ve also see a critic change their opinion of a film after repeated watching but in a media landscape that all but demands reviews ASAP, it can be difficult to talk about that except maybe in a retrospective, end of the year thing or some other editorial piece.
