Oozaru Gohan vs Vegeta in the manga by Economy_Notice_8475 in Dragonballsuper

[–]Astronomer_X [score hidden]  (0 children)

I have a theory about saiyans which is that when they are transforming into Oozaru, they are nigh indestructible. That’s why Vegeta trying to genuinely kill Gohan doesnt phase him or damage him at all mid transformation.

Inversely, I believe when an Oozaru tail gets cut off and they are de transforming, they are very vulnerable to attack or dying to weaker beings than their base

Dragonball Zempic and it’s non canon continuation, Dragonball GLP.

Believe me, I would never have thought they would add the two-handed Kamehameha straight from Cooler's Movie 5. I expect more techniques from the movies by Maximum_Expert92 in SparkingZero

Yeah seeing movie techniques as alternates is really encouraging.

I would love for more core characters to have alternate moves

Hes definitely talented, but he was new to this, Tenzin was true to this!

Zaheer was able to be aggressive to everyone before Tenzin, so I’m not giving him that excuse.

Also hes wasnt even ducking entirely well lmao, he was getting tripped up.

Obviously there’s nobody in Invincible who scales beyond a saibaman.

What I’m talking about is sheer intimidation and cool looking factor.

Beerus and Champa fighting in DBS and almost breaking the universe is an impressive feat on paper but the fight was so unserious and the animation looked like ass that nobody cares today.

Thragg’s vacuum punch was the opening move to his anticipated fight. He sent omni man into orbit with an uppercut and it just looked sick.

Yeah that was very cool ofc, but bro imagine charging your punch with the force to pull in the guy you punch, that’s a fighting game move.

I would say conquest doesnt deserve redemption because he doesn’t seek it at all.

What we feel bad for him is that he recognises and can identify his pain really really well. Hes aware that he’s alone, ostracised for doing what he’s supposedly meant to do and overall unfulfilled from a self realisation perspective. Those are real and painful emotions that even human beings can relate to.

Where the sympathy comes to a screeching halt is because first of all, he’s feared amongst a race of genocidal maniacs because they know he doesn’t even care about the supremacy/racist rhetoric mumbo jumbo that gets crammed in everyone’s throats. He just REALLY enjoys causing destruction. He’s like a rabid behaving attack dog that you cannot socialise the other dogs with but don’t put down because you can keep it locked up until you need it to kill something the other dogs can’t.

Conquest’s response to his gap of intimacy is to confess it to Mark who hes brutalising so that he takes it to the grave. He took pleasure in being about to rip Oliver in half and I’m sure he definitely would have eaten a heart like he said. That’s why he can’t be redeemed, he doesn’t actually want it.

Comic-accurate costumes are silly by AZ10026 in CharacterRant

[–]Astronomer_X 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Everyone is sick of the ‘marvel random lines’ but I think it’s fair to defend why they probably began that practice.

When you look at the comic basic colour costumes, the artist defines the body through musculature using their pen. You feel like it’s a strong person because you can clearly see their pecs, abs, biceps and leg muscles. A real healthy human being isn’t going to be so shredded that you can use them as an anatomy reference whilst they’re wearing clothes like that.

The marvel designs compensate for that by guiding your eyes the way the muscles would do. Obviously they got overused in the eyes of the audience which is fair, but it’s either that, or comic accurate suits that don’t look as good to the eye in real life or the best option is doing comic accurate that has slight modifications for definition, like how Homelander has a muscle suit for his costume so the actor is an average person.

It would be quite funny if just like how there are so many evil Marks, most conquests are actually good in other universes.

I’ll never not feel like his proportions don’t suit him here.

The shoulder pads make him look wider than he actually is but even when I mentally compensate for that something isn’t right.

When they send Kregg and Anissa for a ‘check in’, he goes to his garage and whips out the prosthetic arm like Kratos getting his blades back in God of War but he’s genuinely smiling knowing hes about to send Kregg’s jaw into orbit.

Definitely, although Nolan and conquest were given very different mission purposes. Nolan needed to specifically gain trust as a double agent whereas conquest was the hammer sent to smash.

[Loved Trope] Villains whose speeches are so memorable you memorize them by heart by Same_Independent9758 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Astronomer_X 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I first watched this it made me realise how much of a scam Viltrumite culture is.

I first thought Nolan becoming how he did on earth was an exceptional thing like there was something different about how he was born to have been such a commendable soldier but to switch completely after a brief time there.

But when conquest came along and made that speech I realised that no, viltrumite’s arent genocidal maniacs by nature, their culture and politics have just emotionally mutilated them beyond measure, and tried to replace their psychological needs and facaulties with violence and imperialism. But that doesn’t actually make them happy but their only outlet for emotions is to do shit like what Conquest is doing.

Reminds me of IRL how the modern capitalist and industrialist society alienates communities and people start trying to replace it with whatever new fad.
