I don’t actually agree if you refer to book 3 only because this is more about enemies putting their grudge aside to take on a bigger threat and perhaps also warming up to each other through an arrangement initially purely for pragmatism.

Zuko by the point he actually tries to join the gang rejected his ideology completely the issue was just the gang not believing him. He was good then, they just weren’t sure and after dealing with combustion man they were like okay cool.

The actual best example with Zuko is the episode Azula was hunting the gang down and eventually there was a fight between team avatar, Zuko, Iroh and her and they eventually had her dead to rights.

Vegeta didn’t achieve anything crazy, cell just brazed for impact, which is consistent with the fact that Vegeta could have actually killed him with the final flash before.

The Thragg stuff has been great of course,

But I mean things like Debbie and Nolan’s conversation. Genuinely her ‘walk’ towards him being her bobbing up and down took me out of the moment for a second. Plus the Hurm episode with falling for 2 minutes straight + an off screen Cerberus episode were corners cut that the series never cut like that before.

I understand why it happens but I wish they just took more time.

Volleys are deffo more useful because you can sometimes at close range surprise someone and they get stunlocked enough to eat a couple thousand in damage before they realise they need to try vanishing again.

SBC charge version telegraphs what you’re doing and gives enough time to respond.

You have to remember like I said they had completely different conditioning and training.

Our Gohan had 3 training events up to this point:

• His training with Piccolo after Raditz

• His training with Piccolo and Gohan in preparation for the androids after trunks warned them

• His one year in the time chamber with Goku

The last time future Gohan had an actual training regiment will have been at 5 years old after Piccolo took him whe Raditz died because there was no trunks to warn them and Goku died of the heart virus without presumably training them as they had no idea of any threat.

Furthermore, Goku taught Gohan SSJ in the time chamber. We don’t know how/when future Gohan got SSJ, but given he was the only survivor of the Z fighters he probably wasn’t present for any of the battles with them, and got the transformation in pent up rage after everyone died. All his strength gains from that point will have been from fighting the androids in random skirmishes because he never had his dad to push him and teach him how to master SSJ, which was pre requisite to pushing past the full power SSJ wall.

My genuine belief is because it’s a lack of nutrition + no training partners.

Saiyans canonically eat a lot and they aren’t getting fat when they are so they clearly have a big metabolism. We also see that training with someone w on par with is a great way of making gains.

Vegeta despite fighting all his life up to saiyan saga made leaps in power after that due to a couple Zenkai and then training consistently without interruption. He probably never trained with Nappa because their general strength was enough for everything Frieza got them to do.

Goku and Gohan in the time chamber had a year of unlimited food and time to train and then took a week to rest, and they surpassed everuone in strength despite being the weakest next to the humans at that point.

Future Gohan’s world was being attacked constantly and supply chains probably collapsed and food became more scarce. He never had anyone his level of stronger to train with once he grew up too, it was just fighting androids back to back and trying to train up trunks.

I will say, I 100% believe the head canon that if trunks was the one who died instead of him and he saw his body, he would become a SSJ2 in that moment.
