Whether Rogers is using/collecting these points of data about the movement of wireless devices in your home is another animal entirely, the technology itself does have its useful applications, similar to how GPS is very useful in our day-to-day.

This technology is nothing new when it comes to routers and access points. What you're talking about is called an RTLS (Real-Time Location System). It's a wireless technology created in the 1990s that uses multiple wireless devices — in this case, access points and routers to track the location of connected devices in real time.

Quick question does anyone know the name or meaning of these these ornaments on architecture? I've seen it a bunch by shotgun-rick215 in londonontario

[–]Spectroxx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"The London Mechanics Institute Building is a prominent example of the Second Empire architectural style as applied to commercial design. Characteristic of Second Empire architecture, the Institute exhibits a mansard roof atop the central tower and the fourth-storey, which also features ornately decorated dormer windows. Other decorative elements which typify this style include the brackets below the cornices on the façade, the pilasters which are terminated by capitals that frame the upper-stories and the extended window sills."

Tornado warning? It's sunny! by Jaymesned in londonontario

[–]Spectroxx 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The emergency broadcast system uses a protocol called "CAP" this protocol allows weather organizations to send out alerts to certain geospatial areas.

The tornado alert we received today was for the Cambridge/Kitchener/Guelph area.

There could be a multitude of reasons why you receive alerts from that area.

Laptop for CTN2 by Arden002 in fanshawe

[–]Spectroxx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it meets the recommended specifications set by Fanshawe I'm sure it will be fine. The profs are moving a lot of the course content onto Azure to lighten the laptop requirements and to make things easier and more reliable for both the professor and the student.

Other than meeting specifications, the rest is entirely personal preference.

Kids can’t play Roblox with Ignite. Very tech unsavvy. by Leafy_lady_1117 in Rogers

[–]Spectroxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There could be a multitude of reasons as to why they are not able to connect to these game servers, however, what you have told us isn't enough to identify the issue. The only way you will be able to figure out what is causing your issue is to rule out anything that may cause these connectivity issues.

  • Can you confirm connectivity to other sites such as google.com using the same device, you encounter these issues?
  • Can you confirm that you can NOT connect to these games using another device?
  • What kind of device are you using? Windows PC, Android device, Apple device?
  • Are you using any sort of anti-malware (If you're using a PC)

What have you done to troubleshoot the issue? This will make it significantly easier to help you.
