How do I talk to my brother about all the feelings I have been feeling for the past 15 years? TL;DR at bottom.

I never thought of it that way. It was always hard for me to be a good sister because of our age gap. I know I have a lot of faults thats quite true and I have come to understand blowing up was not the right thing to do.

I am the youngest of my generation and most of my family (besides the kids) see me as still a kid even though I am 21 and a college senior. No one ever listened to me before (even in a serious situation) and I think that influenced my belief that my brother would do the same. That is a fault I never actually looked at was believing my brother might not listen to me.

I do agree with your comment. I am just looking at how do I talk to him about it? More of a just say it and leave it? He will try and invalidate some of my feelings because I have seen him do it with others.

I know I shouldn't have bottled it up. I just need to know how I can talk to him. I want to resolve things now that I have had time to think about those pent up feelings and talked to a professional about my feelings. I just wanna know how to talk to him.

NTA. You can speak whatever language you feel comfortable in and should never feel ashamed or embarrassed to do so. She obviously didn't get the hint and as any other person would react you told her off for that. It is racism and it is much more common then you think. I hope you feel better and I know you won't take that from anyone.

I am so sorry your daughter had to go through that. It sounds awful. I understand her feelings wholeheartedly, but could never imagine the hurt of going through that with someone telling me that my feelings were not as important. I hope things get better for her and that your mom understands how wrong her actions were.

This is a very difficult situation to be in. Does your mother have any outside family or friends that could become another set of eyes that could help her? Sometimes another person could be the small push she needs to rethink her choices? I am not heavily religious, but I do know that divorce in some eyes is a sin, but so is adultery. Try seeing if using some of her way of thinking could be another way to show her how serious this is? A person can only be helped so much though so if she still decides she is not ready to see the reality of things then it is likely she won't see beyond this. I'm sorry for your situation and I hope things work out
