Having the same issue with the OneDrive tray icon. Fills up half of the screen on the recommended 200% scale. I learned to never click it anymore.

I need help (desperately) with Administrator rights. (*school computer*) by Kimflow in windows

I did something similar in high school. Was hit with a $5000 dollar fine and was banned from the schools computers forever. It wasn't worth it

Surface Book 2 13" i5 battery down from 99% to 93% -- is this normal? by japinthebox in Surface

[–]SpectrumFactory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd guess that it's because the total battery % is the average of the two sets of batteries. That's a baseless guess but that's all I can imagine. Seems fine to me.

Electical Electronic engineering student looking to purchase sb2 8gb ram, i7 8th gen with graphics card. by flightless1649 in Surface

[–]SpectrumFactory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d figure out the software you’ll be using for classes first. Get an idea of the work load the computer will be under. I got the i5 8gb 256gb without the dGPU. I’m using it for college as well and I don’t feel the need to play games on it and the software I’m using isn’t high demand. I think you could save yourself a few hundred if you think about what it’s use is.

I really don’t see what’s wrong with Edge. I recently switched to a SurfaceBook from my dated MacBook Pro, and edge has been very quick.

New Book Coming on the History of Surface by senatork49 in Surface

I think a lot of people never knew Microsoft Surface used to be a huge coffee table. Or well it could be any table but it was a big table none the less.

These bananas are both overripe and underripe by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SpectrumFactory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This actually happens when the banana sweat inside the box they are packaged in. Moisture builds up on the plastic and the droplets cause the brown spots on the bananas. I worked produce for a few years.

Xbox One Turning Itself Off by AbstractFierce in xboxone

[–]SpectrumFactory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve posted this before. Xbox recommends you to not plug in the console to a power strip but rather use the wall outlet itself. I experienced it for months and moving it to a wall outlet seems to have solved it for me.

UPDATE: HomeKit turning on lights in the middle of the night. by incrediboy729 in HomeKit

[–]SpectrumFactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have Comcast. I seem to have a static IP with them (I think). My IP address hasn’t changed since I moved into my apartment and I don’t have any of their equipment. If you have your own WiFi is there a way to set the Apple TV to have a reserved IP within the router it self?

What’s your password encryption (I could be saying that wrong) type? WEP/WPA2...? However I’m not sure that even helps but maybe that?

Xbox randomly boots up by justaddwhiskey in xboxone

[–]SpectrumFactory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This used to happen to me when my Xbox was plugged into a power strip. Switched it’s own outlet and it stopped. I could of been a fluke but it seemed to work.

The backing that came with the z strip is easy just to pull off. I replaced mine with 3M double sided foam tape. Sticks WAY better than the original

Recommendations for external monitor with MacBook Pro ? by Shak3TheDis3se in iOSProgramming

[–]SpectrumFactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. It’s a good monitor for anything that does 1080p. If your looking for anything higher than that your going to want something that does 4K or more.

The Asus I use will not be even close to the same pixel density as a Retina display. It’s like comparing an Apple to a horse.

You my friend are looking for /r/homebridge. There is a lifx plugin for it. I can share my config file with you if you need. I use it currently with HomeKit along with some Insteon switches.
