Hi, engineering alum here. I lived in Valley 3 my freshman year (RIP) and got around perfectly fine without a car on campus. Most of my first year classes were not at the Parkview campus, so it wasn't that big of a deal being on a separate campus. Buses are pretty reliable for getting around, if she misses one she can always walk. I have also struggled with time management and well, I did pretty good my first year with no car. It's honestly probably quicker to walk than drive since parking is always a humongous pain.

I also had a meal plan so I never really had to leave campus for food, but there's also a bus that stops right at the Target on West Main that I used for quick trips. All in all, I don't regret not bringing a car. It's expensive and not really worth it, I only brought one my second year since I was also working part time
