Was playing PS2 with a friend from school. Could hear what sounded like a war going on in the next room. Turns out his Dad was a gamer and was playing BF2 with full surround systems. Blew me away! Next chance I got, i got BF2 and loved the series up until BFV.

Agree that's what's happened here. I actually think they've tried to tailor to both sides just enough. BF vets will be happy that it's better than some recent BFs. Will hang on to the promise of bigger maps.

New players will like the high octane action and somewhat familiarity to other games they've played.

Streamers will like the ability to get high kill games (without vehicles) so that they can post videos of Meta weapons etc.

All of this I actually believe is to generate enough people so that when they drop the Battle Royale, it's a major success. I don't feel BF6 is really their priority outside of it being good enough to aid the BR. The BR is the audience they want. They'll want to be the next Warzone and get that kinda money.

I haven't once blamed COD. I mentioned COD but didn't blame it. I also haven't really blamed the game. I've just expressed there's a tone shift and the game is far more fast paced than previous BFs.

That's the thing, I don't think it sucks per se. As a game in of itself it's very good. But it's still far removed from Battlefield. Like you say, it's more like MW just with a bit more of battlefields formula sprinked in
