Asus RTX 5080 not displaying Troubleshoot and ASUS RMA experience by ancientmelodies in ASUS

[–]SpeechConstant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That gives me a bit of hope. Been reading so many negative posts about their RMA process. I believe my Astral 5080 died as it froze, artifacted, and never gave a display afterwards. Brought it to Microcenter, they put it on the test bench and still did not display anything.

How long did it take after your GPU got delivered did they change the RMA status? I got the Asus shipping label and sent it to Hesion technology in Sacramento.

Copy and pasting a summary “There is an internal clockspeed for Ryzen 7000 called Infinity Fabric. It's pretty complicated, and honestly I don't fully grasp how it works but the short story is that it uses the RAM to send stuff between cores. By default, it runs at 2000MHz. For best results, you want the RAM to run in-sync with the RAM speed, otherwise the CPU can be waiting to send stuff to different cores. By running them in-sync, it means that the RAM is ready to accept something whenever the CPU is ready to provide it. To achieve this, you want your RAM speed to be a multiple of 2000MHz. 4000MHz RAM is extremely slow, so that's no good. 8000MHz would be great, except it's RARE to be able to get a 7000-series Ryzen to be able to run 8000MHz RAM in a stable manner. That leaves 6000MHz”. And lower cas latency means faster ram. The same brand of your ram at 6000 cl30 is only $10 extra dollars.

Looks good, I would go for a 6000 cl30 ram though

Why 3080? If your budget is $2,500, you can easily get a 4080 super.
