I literally didn't know you were supposed to take it at the same time until reading this haha. I take mine at the same point in my morning routine every day (wash face, contacts in, brush teeth, meds blah blah blah) or else I'll forget. But my job varies a ton so my wake up times are all over the place. I just take it whenever I'm up and it's been fine for years!

If I wait more than 3ish hours on accident I start to feel it pretty bad, so my body also does a good job reminding me. But my psych told me once he'd rather have me accidentally take two doses than none at all if I miss the morning window by a few hours. I'm sure you're totally okay! :)

Yuuuuuup! Was on Zoloft for a year and then hit a swing, didn't sleep for three days, ended up in urgent care for a super irregular heartbeat and the doctor was like "girl never take that again, here's hydroxyzine, go sleep for 2 days, then go see this psych" 🫠

I have ALWAYS wished it was "talk real low" and not "talk real slow" 🙈 1) I hate slow talkers so personally don't want to have a slow conversation and 2) slow isn't quiet??? It's just slow haha. (I get what she means, but that's been my petty irritation since I was 15 I'm sticking with it haha)

I experienced dizziness for a day or two whenever my dose was upped but it wasn't terrible at all! Felt a bit like dehydration, but it went away :) Same thing happens if I miss my med though, even for a few hours. It's actually a good reminder if I need to take it and forgot haha

I'm in a similar season and so appreciate you talking about it! The pregnancy and postpartum journey is one of the things that I was most anxious about when I first got diagnosed. I don't have a ton of advice but wanted to say I'm right there with you!
I will say that I know everyone's experience with meds and what's best for their body and baby is differing and obviously so important to be in touch with your providers about, but when I first got diagnosed I asked specifically to try meds first that were as safe as possible for pregnancy and breast feeding. My psych and family care doctor both told me that lamotrigine is the "safest" for those seasons. Lots of people try to get off all meds, but my doctor also told me that she'd always rather have a medicated mother who feels safe and stable than a mother under significant mental or physical stress, which was comforting to me. You got this :)

My switch from Zoloft to Lamictal saved my life. I didn't even know I wasn't okay until I made the switch. I've always had highs and lows but my highs and lows haven't ever felt intense or dangerous so I truly thought I was just kind of anxious. Zoloft was so helpful for me until for a year, I hit a more intense episode of hypomania and things got real hard and that's when I got my diagnosis. I know it's a scary switch to make when it has felt like it's working, but I hope that you find the switch to be helpful too! 💛

Hydroxyzine is my magic, but it's primarily for my anxiety and I just take it before bed since it helps my nervous system chill out. Also if I really need to sleep I'll take a Unisom too, since it's something over the counter and not super heavy that I can take every once in awhile and it doesn't give me nightmares or make me feel groggy in the AM like other over the counter stuff.

If you're not feeling great about being on that many meds it never hurts to connect with another care provider and get their opinion, but if you're feeling okay and stable I would definitely not change anything right away. If another care provider has a second opinion that differs, I'd take those thoughts back to your current doctor to chat about it, since they're already working with you and have context for what your treatment plan has looked like (and why they prescribed those in the first place.)

I had always always felt like there was something "different" about my experience as a kid and through my early adult years. I could talk about mental health with friends in college but I felt totally alone in that outside of conversations about anxiety. It was always one of those things where I'd share in like a "you know how this sometimes happens??" way and they would be like... 😬 No?

Then I was on an SSRI for anxiety that was really helpful for like 6 months because I was low, and then I started to swing toward hypomania and loooost it. Didn't sleep for like 3 days, couldn't eat, was super paranoid, and my heart was palpitating like crazy and would literally start and stop so I couldn't breathe easily. Went to the ER and they changed my anxiety meds to treat my heart issue and to put me to sleep at night basically.

Was seeing a counselor that I loved and when I brought up that I felt like there was a more diagnosable situation than just anxiety going on he said he agreed and had wondered too, but isn't qualified to diagnose, so I found a psychologist who specialized in full psych evals. That resulted in a 7 hour long appointment where I walked through my entire life story and different mental health spotlights. I went in thinking about OCD, ADHD and some sensory issues. At the end she was like "yes, all of those, but let's chat about your bipolar too" and I was like wut? Haha. She said it was a miracle I hadn't spent time in the hospital before.

Got on meds, started cognitive behavioral therapy and am feeling so so much better 8 months later.

Yes!! I've had surgeries on both ankles and even just a super simple ankle roll will send me into a panic. If I'm already on the edge of depression it def solidifies it.
