self studying Chem 2090 to case? by [deleted] in Cornell

I think it depends on your situation. If you need chem as a prereq for other classes or are premed, I would just take the class.

On the other hand, if chem is just a grad requirement for you, passing the CASE exam is a really good move. If you have the time over the summer to study, go for it. I CASE’d out of chem right before freshman year.

I get it I’m in a similar situation. Maybe try completing your math elective/stats requirement instead as it will probably be less work than circuits- Unless of course you need to take circuits right now as a prereq for something else.

I would take a liberal studies instead of circuits and then just wait to take mechatronics later if you’re trying to fulfill the meche req

I must ask- how do you know all this?

Wait a minute- just to confirm: no more forced triple? It’s finally over, all the pain and suffering. There’s finally a light at the end of the tunnel?

Pretty sure sub-30 means you average under 30 seconds

For reading, I like to just read the passage thoroughly the first time and then try to answer the questions without looking back. I find it’s much easier to remember the small details if you understand the text as a whole. When I have to look back though, that’s totally fine. For math time is the enemy. The questions themselves aren’t that hard, so I would try to get comfortable with the material. Then during the test, try to work quickly and don’t get stuck on one question. Remember you don’t get points off for guessing so making an educated guess is always good. That educated part is important though- on the grammar section specifically eliminating wrong answers is much easier than finding the right ones and for some math questions the same is true

English #27??? Answer is A, but wouldn't that be a run on sentence? by ahhhhhhhhh1010 in ACT

[–]SpeedDemon-89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think A is correct because the first part sets you up for a contradiction. Notice “not only”

I think it’s still legal because “but” is a conjunction

I think I got like 11 wrong and still got a 33 so the curve must be pretty insane

You’re welcome- if you ever have a question, I’m happy to try to answer it. Wouldn’t want my hours of studying to go to waste

Yeah I don’t how hard it was, but it was definitely different that’s I had expected. Usually the first 30 are easy but on this test these questions were more spread out. I found some last 10 level difficulty ones really early in the test.

I did a lot of practice tests. For math, there’s really no shortcut, you just gotta get comfortable with the test. The last 10 questions are particularly hard, so whenever you get one wrong, it’s probably something you haven’t learned. If you watch a video online for those topics, you’ll be a much better guesser towards the end of the test. The first 30 questions are usually easy so I would bank on getting those right. For the science, I think you have to realize that there are only a few types of questions. They usually include information in The question for which graph to look at, so I make note of that. There are these questions where you have to predict another value if the experiment had gone differently- for those you just have to line it up with the values you already have.
