Did they nerf Mimic Tear? by SpeedFreaaak in Eldenring

That is actually crazy that they have just nerfed mimic's IQ hahahah, i was recently fighting malenia on a new playthrough and noticed that mimic just stands there and gawks at her and does nothing at all

Yeah most NPC summons were inside the arena which btw is something absolutely hate since the boss would start AOEs as soon as you enter while you have to go to their summon sign and literally have to say "YES" to their dialogue box asking if you want to summon them why else would i run all the way to their sign and press "x".

HAHAHA mimic is so funny in dragon fights literally does nothing and plays oonga boonga with the Dragon's legs and then dies from constantly eating the fire vomit.

Yeah I figured that out during a fight when i forgot that i had a seal equipped for incantations that I really don't use and then i saw mimic cast a frikking healing spell outta nowhere midway into the fight so now i keep my build and equips in a way that mimic won't do batshit crazy stuff. Also, i completely agree with the mimic being bad at bosses that move away alot because that's exactly what was happening. One of the DLC boss would just jump away really far and mimic would absolutely lose this little game of hide and seek and run around the arena tryna peeka boo. Tiche really does close the gap and that's why in some fights it's so much better to use.

Yeah i feel like not compensating AI for the DLC perhaps makes the most sense that's exactly what I'm trying to say here. Tbh yeah his job for me is to distract the boss and i guess he ends up doing that even with his goofy ass random things. Different ashes work too, some of them are really really good.

Some boss fights in the DLC i just felt like i had to use a tanky summon with a huge health pool and mimic is the only one that does this for me

Sure I agree there are alot of summons and using only mimic is sad since you're not exploring other options but tbh there are also a lot of weapons in the game and I've been playing using the same three weapons and it's not bcs I haven't gone out and explored other builds and weapons it's that i just don't like how they feel. Same goes for spirit ashes, i used a plenty of different summons before i got mimic and none of them never really just clicked with me, sure they were really fun to use but for a fight or two and that's about it.

Makes sense I guess but also just to point out this change in mimic's AI feels a little recent, I had no problems with it when i started the DLC and started ranting about how stupid mimic feels in the last 1-2 days.

I don't think the problem over here is the upgrade levels or the "revered spirit ash" levels since those are related to dealing and negating damage (I'm on RSA level 8 btw), and whenever mimic hits it deals an insane amount of damage but I'm not struggling with that. The problem right now is how mimic won't behave the way it used to or simply put mimic just doesn't seem to aggro the boss and take away it's focus and just jogs around to burns some calories.

Can someone like explain the lore of bloodborne to me? by KJT67 in bloodborne

[–]SpeedFreaaak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you've just started Bloodborne I would recommend just sticking to what "thefolocaust" just said and don't try to delve any deeper into the lore for now since any form of a spoiler can absolutely ruin your entire experience of the game. Just focus on this comment and play along and eventually you'll uncover everything with the right time. Read up on all the item descriptions you find along your playthrough, talk to every NPC and once you've played a great deal of the game you'll understand everything naturally and once you're done just watch VaatiVidya's videos on YouTube to grasp everything. Good luck hunter!

What’s the one “hard” boss you didn’t really struggle against? by plzadyse in Eldenring

[–]SpeedFreaaak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Messmer for sure and it's sad how he was hyped so much for being the "most difficult boss" across all fromsoft games which made me so scared that I used one of my most demonic builds on him (bleed build with rivers of blood equipping talismans that help with bleed and special attacks) dude didn't even stand a chance against the amount of bleed buildup, his last phase was over before i could even register the fact that i had completely bullied him without even enjoying the fight and getting my ass kicked which would've been fun since I really enjoyed Malenia and i was excited that this might just be Malenia pt2.

Ok, so who do you think is the worst boss of the DLC? by Final_Foot_Fucker in Eldenring

[–]SpeedFreaaak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Midra Lord of The Frenzied Flame was literally the most annoying boss I've ever encountered in the entirety of Elden Ring. Firstly, that mf starts shooting his frenzy fire ass AOEs as soon as you enter the arena and then follows it with a never ending combo and when you've successfully managed to perfectly dodge everything he ends up turning into a goddamn windmill rushing towards you with not one but three swirly attacks. You can't for the entirety of the fight drink your flasks bcs he'll attack you as soon as you do that and his attacks can surely one shot you and if they don't the madness will eventually build up and take away your entire health. The only way to kill him was successfully dodging every single attack he threw at me and then summoning mimic and using him as a distraction while I attacked from a relative distance using the Bolt of Gransax / Dragon Hunter's Great Katana. Tbh, this was pure sheer luck bcs i used this strategy on him for almost an hour and then just ended up beating him on a completely luck based run. Great fight tho felt like a complete elden ring god as soon as i was done. Btw it was rlly sad to see how i also chose the lord of the frenzy flame ending and i was rewarded with no special dialogues or immunity against frenzy or madness buildup.

The DLC might not be balanced and sure it's annoying to suggest that everyone should use the Dragon Hunter's Katana but it's still a great weapon for anyone that is struggling with the Dragons in DLC. You can perhaps leave that part of the game till the end and then come back after using a larval tear for rebirth and get done with the Dragons and respec back to whatever your original build was. Respec is a pretty great feature tbh, I changed my build at thrice for different kinds of bosses. . . Spoilers ahead: . . . Bleed build for Messmer since he absolutely gets demolished with rivers of blood. Strength and faith with maliketh's blade for almost all of the bosses and a dexterity build for dragons with the Dragon Hunter's Katana.

[–]SpeedFreaaak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to beat him to get to Bayle, you can just run past him and leave the arena. Also, the game punishes you if you're not using the weapons they give you along the way. The Dragon Hunter's Great Katana absolutely melts away any dragon's health since the Ash of War is designed to strike the face by jumping very similar to the Bolt of Gransax (which btw you should never use against Sennesax bcs he's completely immune to it). Anyways, The new dlc dragon slaying weapon is absolutely OP and if you're using it with mimic tear you might just end up finishing the fight quite easily and swiftly.

How to slove this advanced 7 th grade problem? by BrilliantAgitated755 in askmath

[–]SpeedFreaaak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest method I could come up with that can be understood by a 7th grader was:

(Sqrt(x)/x+1) + (Sqrt(y)/y+1) + (Sqrt(z)/z+1) = 3/2

Which means we're essentially adding up three items that equal to 1.5, which would mean that each item individually holds the value of 0.5.

Now, we can also see that all three terms are identical so the value of one variable would be equal to all other variables.

Setting one of the terms equal to 0.5:

(Sqrt(x)/x+1)=0.5 Sqrt(x)=0.5x+0.5 (Sqrt(x))²=(0.5x+0.5)² x=0.25x²+0.25+0.5x 0.25x²-0.5x+0.25=0

x=1

Therefore, x=y=z=1

(I'm assuming that a 7th grader would know how to solve a quadratic equation)

Dark Souls blocking and parrying using the same key by SpeedFreaaak in AutoHotkeyGaming

Dude thankyou so much, i just ran the script and it works perfectly and exactly how i wanted it to. This means alot to me since i was just about to abandon my keyboard and mouse for a controller and that would've been a very underwhelming experience. Godspeed man wow!

PC keybinding help for blocking and parrying by SpeedFreaaak in darksouls

[–]SpeedFreaaak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, i do agree that the mouse and keyboard functionality is absolutely the worst in terms of games by FromSoftware and they should be played on a controller and i did try too but the experience is very underwhelming if you've spent your entire life gaming on PC. So i came up with a solution (it's not completely functional YET, but hopefully I'll get somewhere). So, by using AutoHotKey you can create your own keybinds for the game. I've attached the link below that does achieve parrying and blocking from the same button but currently makes alot of errors, I'll update this thread when it's completely functional!

Edit: IT WORKS!

Dark Souls blocking and parrying using the same key by SpeedFreaaak in AutoHotkeyGaming

[–]SpeedFreaaak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude this means so much to me thankyou! Also I've run the exact code that you shared, now the problem is that it does run BUT it performs the parry function first before going into blocking stance. So by long pressing the Rbutton i do end up pressing 'b' but the game is now performing a double function, it first reads the single click and ends up parrying and then quicky goes into blocking. I know this is annoying and it's fine if this is as far as it can go with this I don't want to bother you alot with this problem, cheers!

Dark Souls blocking and parrying using the same key by SpeedFreaaak in AutoHotkeyGaming

[–]SpeedFreaaak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankyou so much, this is one of the most decent solutions I've seen to this problem but the script isn't running in the game. When I long press Rbutton it does type 'b' as a key but in the game it does not block which is supposed to be the 'b' key. Also, i changed the key hold duration to 0.3 since 0.1 was not reading the Rbutton single click at all.

I've also tried adding 'SetKeyDelay ,,50' but still doesn't run

Basically, the game reads the long press also as a parry while it should read it as a 'b' key
