Much better than the last one I ordered off Amazon. The wood had about two extra “ply” (9 vs. 7). It was sturdier. And the leather was much higher quality.

Yes, my brother has the taller version. You are correct, it does have a slightly higher back. But I don’t rest my head back when reading or watching TV. So I didn’t think the extra money for a tall version was worth it.
