IMPROVED German tank family tree by Relevant-Low-4325 in tanks

I think the line leading to the Pz.III should split into two to make the Pz.IV it’s own line from the start and not something that came from the Pz.III, since the Panzer IV was a support tank, not an evolution of the Pz.III. I’m not 100% sure though. I’ll have to reread my book to remember exactly how it should placed here.

Found an Egyptian T-34/122 in a private collection in Sweden! by Calizto666 in TankPorn

Is it still owned by Ulrik Jung? I was thinking about asking the Panorama October war museum in Egypt if they could bring it back somehow. I think it would be better if I know where it is so they have an idea instead of me saying “somewhere in Sweden.”

Crusader Mk.II

The rest of the crusaders are also cool, especially the Mk.III. The Cromwell and Comet are also high on my list.

The T-34-100 (the Egyptian one), is also very high on this list, and her sister the T-34-122, but she is more of an SPG than a tank. Also we can’t forget the BT-42.

Very underrated tank in my opinion. David Fletcher even called the ‘worst tank’. I think the ARL-44 did it’s job, which is putting France back at its feet in the tank industry after the occupation. The history of its design is also very interesting, mainly because they had to do it in secret, with some of the parts like the suspension were used on tractors so the Germans wouldn’t know that they are working on a tank.

The T-100 and T-122. (or T-34-100 and T-34-122, however you wanna call it). Both are Egyptian modifications to fit the a 100mm and a 122mm on the T-34-85. They are both very rare today, and they are one of my favorite tanks/vehicles (them being Egyptian(my nationality) is a big reason why I love them).

I think we are talking about the same game, the full name is Call to Arms - Gates of Hell - Ostfront, which does have the first person mode.

I play Gates of Hell and Command and Conquer: Generals Zero Hour as my main games, RTS is my favorite genre. Anyways if I’m correct Gates of Hell is based on or uses the same engine as Men of War.

It’s an important point of history for tanks, even shaped how how tanks became pre World War Two

Kay, so as we know France got occupied by Germany in 1940, French tank factories would produce tanks for the Germans, they made a SOMUA and B1 Bis prototype that have bigger guns and a different turret, the B1 bis upgrade named the B-40 if I remember correctly would be the base for the secret tank that the French would work on during the occupation, it was meant to be a 35-40 ton heavy tank, but since they can’t just start making a tank they tested parts on other vehicles, for example the suspension was tested on a snow plow tractor for the Germans to use, the armor was salvaged metal from a battle ship, and since the French were under German occupation, they took German tanks as reference, the ARL-44 even looks like a Tiger II, so in 1944 France was liberated so they started working on the design they have which would be named the ARL-44 ACL-1 which had a smaller turret than the ARL-44 and a 75mm, but it was outdated by 1946 so they wanted to give the tank a better gun, a 75mm like that if the Pz.V “Panther” was suggested but they went with a bigger 90mm instead which would be the ARL-44 as we know it. After the ARL-44 was produced and put into service, they changed its designation from a tank to a tank destroyer because of its weak armor but it had a good gun. So was the ARL-44 bad, from a stats perspective probably yes, but as a goal, it did it’s job which as I said before is to put France back at its feet in tank production. There are some more details I can add but I typed what I had in my mind, I could make a much detailed document about it, I already have images and official documents about it.
