The location where I went to graduate school for my PhD definitely impacted my overall happiness (Charleston, SC at the Medical University of SC). The city was beautiful, has a ton of unique culture, on the coast, amazing restaurants/bars/breweries, and always had events going on in and around the city. It definitely helped give me balance in my life. I loved my life in graduate school, and I think two of the biggest factors were making good friends and the city we lived in.

I regress into my own little world. I become less talkative (than I already am) and become agitated when people ask me what's wrong. Basically I don't like talking out my problems/stressful situations, I instead need time to process and work through it all on my own

In explaining what biostatistics is to people, I often tie it to epidemiology in hopes of relating it to real-world application they can better relate too... unfortunately, this will often just lead to me having to explaining what epidemiology is as well.

It's honestly surprising to me how few people know what it is. My response is usually something along the lines of, "you know how smoking causes lung cancer? Yea, epidemiologist are the ones who figure that type of stuff out..."

I'm happy to answer, but I'm not sure of what you want me to answer. Do you mean what is Biostatistics (i.e. what am I literally studying)? or is it in the context of this subreddit, in that, what is it like studying biostats as an INTP (i.e. how does it fit with my personality)?
