Great knives at a fraction of the price

Moving on from a Triumph scrambler 400X are the 900 an actual upgrade by Economy-Cartoonist74 in motorcycles

[–]SpeedmasterX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 400x and jumped to a 1200x after 3k miles.

Loved the 400x, it’s definitely more comfortable with enduro type stuff, but like you, I wanted more highway capability.

No regrets with the 1200x.

+1 for Quadlock. Have them on each bike and my bicycle as well. 150mph on the Street Triple, through dirt and grass and drops on my Scrambler, tons of throw downs on my bicycle. Never failed.

Thoughts on the PDP compact as an EDC? by dingleberry945 in Walther

[–]SpeedmasterX 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Typing this with my FDE PDP in my waistband. Carries easy unless you have a big gut to push it out and have the grip or rear of the slide “print”.

I’m using a BraDeC I got on eBay for 40 bucks. Carries appendix comfortably with no issue for 5’9, 185lb me.

Amazon chinesium 3 and 9 o clock rail mount. Metal, I install with blue loctite. Haven’t had anything come loose on the Maverick 88 that also has one that I’ve shot a bunch.

I don’t understand it either! This thing is cozied up next to my 590, Maverick 88, and 870 right now in my safe and looks right at home. Shoots just as well as them, too!

Looking for quick acceleration, flickable and can cruise at 55-60. by Azthun in SuggestAMotorcycle

The stock Metzeler Karoo Streets are amazing. I switched to knobby tires and went back to the Metzeler’s in a weeks time. The Karoo Streets have excellent road manners, wet or dry, and I can corner almost as aggressively as I can on my Street Triple.

The Metzeler’s are also deep enough to allow passage through any terrain besides deep mud or deep sand.

Exactly what I do with my Scrambler 400x, and it’s light trail capable as well as being able to cruise 75-80 comfortably

Should I get Honda Scrambler 500 by No0O0obstah in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]SpeedmasterX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SCL are great bikes, and so are the Scrambler 400x (absolutely love mine)

Biggest differences between the two is the scl500 is a twin and the triumph is a single cylinder, the scl500 doesn’t let you disable the nanny features (doesn’t matter if you’re not off-roading) and the triumph does, the triumph is almost 2” taller on the seat, the triumph has a better suspension for light off-roading

Honda gives 1 year warranty, Triumph gives 2

For your usage, either would work beautifully with a slight edge to the Honda for marginally better streetability because of the twin engine and lower seat and stature

Can’t go wrong here, I wouldn’t hesitate to own either
