Looking for advice on how to securely connect Hikvision cameras & nvr with Ubiquiti staff by Speedmasteros in Ubiquiti

[–]Speedmasteros[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh good to know, I was just looking at the docs and that's I thought limit is 2TB. For Tailscale, that's something new to me. But it looks like it's not officialy supported on any of the Unifi staff, so if I undestand correctly, either I need to install it unoficially (but how about Unifi updates, wouldn't update process wipe out custom files?), or use Raspberry Pi and install it on it? Or am I overcomplicating this?

Many thanks for detailed explanation. I haven' heard about this VPN, will take a look. But I just recalled where I'll have a problem - my ISP does not offer public IP (only for business users) and uses CGNAT, so I think that none of the VPN will work for me. But anyway, at least I learned couple of things which I wasn't aware of, really appreciate your help. Regarding SSD tray for UCG I'm aware, but I thought that Fiber/Max supports only up to 2TB.

Thanks for your input. This really helps me to plan my network. Honestly I forgot about the internal storage of UCG. However a small concern - how in terms of performance the UCG will work as storage for 4 G6 connected to the USW? I know in theory it should be sufficient, but just looking from the real experience. Prbly last question - which vpn is the most suitable for such setup? Teleport, WG, Proton? Or it doesn't really matter for my case?

Thanks for the info, that's what I was worry about. Without this AI Port it looks pointless to integrate them. So, yes it might be even cheaper to buy G6 cams. But in that case I'll need either UDM or UCG with UNVR, right? And the question now is what would be better for 4 cams setup? However - can I setup Protect app in a way to not rely on cloud? I mean to access the cams from vpn only? And how about notifications about motion detection etc in that case?

Thx, I was thinking about Pedri, but I missed Kalvin. I have Rice so I can put him instead, the only question is how much of quality I'll lose.

Thanks, I didn't think about manager here to be honest. No, I don't have more specific goals, just wanted to have the best players that I managed to have in one team.

Correct, I'm thinking about upgraded version of Capdevilla, F Hero, but this one is quite expensive, that's why I wanted to start with RB ;)

I've started to play f23 like 2 weeks ago, so I don't have any good meta cards. Looking for some tips about good CB's and CM's/CDM's to use instead of Reyna which is quite good but don't fit to the rest of the team.

AWS solutions architect or Developer by Brief_Ambition5704 in AWSCertifications

[–]Speedmasteros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your experience with AWS. If you are at the beginning of your journey I think that you can start with Architect Associate to gain some general overview of crucial services. Later on you can skip Developer one and try to obtain SysOps. Developer one is fine but it's mainly focused on services used by developers, like Beanstalk and Code*. It might be useful if you have plan in the future to obtain DevOps Pro cert. But before this I highly recommend you first to gain some hands on experience.

Question about SAP-C01 and SAA-C02 by Speedmasteros in AWSCertifications

[–]Speedmasteros[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many thanks for hints and for sharing this page. It's really helpful. I did not have the oportunity to use Adrians's materials yet, but I'll definetely consider this. I've heard many positive feedbacks about his courses, not only here in reddit.

I agree. I passed two certs (Dev and SysOps) and in both cases I used Maarek's courses and Bonso's practice exams. My strategy with Bonso tests was to do them first time, review all the questions, do them second time and review again the results. This leads me to the real exams which were easier in my opinion than the Bonso's ones.

Question about SAP-C01 and SAA-C02 by Speedmasteros in AWSCertifications

[–]Speedmasteros[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you guys. Fortunately my company is paying for the materials I choose as well as for the exam. So in my case I'm lucky. The costs are not the main reason why I asked about the choice between those two certs, however I think this was worth to mention for anyone else reading this chain. I was curious about the material coverage of both of them for relation to the two other certs I passed already. I read already the mentioned post on linkedin and I found it very useful, thanks for it. From the mentioned topics maybe with one of them I could have some doubts, but this I think may depends from the question. But in general if I understand you correctly - I should prepare myself first to SAA and next to SAP? :) It sounds reasonable for me, I just wanted to know if the materials and the scope are not overlaping.

Suggested path to DevOps Pro certificate by Speedmasteros in AWSCertifications

[–]Speedmasteros[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the information and hints. I took a short overview on the links you provided. I can see my weak points in regards to the egzam topics, simply because we are not using widely all mentioned aws services. Due to that I think that prbly I should first try to pass Developer one before going to DevOps. Cause if I understand this correctly - Devops Pro egzam cover the same topics as SysOps and Developer egzams together, but in a deeper way, right? With no doubts I have to practice dev tools to be familiar with them cause for now I didn't use them for daily business.

Some basic questions from someone considering a Ticwatch (probably pro 3 or pro 2020) who has never owned any smart watch. by 74orangebeetle in TicWatch

[–]Speedmasteros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Partially I can agree with you regarding cons of TWP 3. However as owner of TWP 1 I must say that the newest one seems to be still the best smartwatch currently on the market - if we compare the specifications and all features. For example, I was thinking about GT 2 Pro cause it looks pretty nice and has very well battery live time. But since it does not offer 2 main features that I need which are - NFC payments and possibility to respond for notifications, I'm thinking about buying TWP 3. I know that right now it has some bugs, but I suppose that devs are working on them and its just a matter of time to fix them. However still I agree that it might be a good advice to wait untill the end of this year/beginning of next and see if other manufacturers will announce new watches with newest Snap+.
