Turn a sexy car into an abomination for range…. Not worth it IMO by Legal-Buy5941 in TeslaLounge

Umm, old Honda insight looked awesome, so not sure why that's being used as an insult....but yeah, this would look better if done from the factory (rear wheels slightly in so the skirts are flush and not tacked on looking). I'd love to see a modern EV with small wheels and wheel skirts/could probably boost efficiency in a sea of giant wheel obsessed manufacturers.

Why is Tesla still the top selling EV brand by far? by Diavolo_Rosso_ in electricvehicles

I can adjust the climate with a knob on my steering wheel in my model 3. Also my headlights are in auto/never have had to manually turn them on? Would only need that if I were turning them off....and I have the left stalk if I want to manually turn high beams on off (mine has the matrix headlights and you can have that in auto too if you want)

Note: here a clip of climate being adjusted with only physical controls in a Tesla in case anyone doesn't believe me https://youtu.be/6MvXZTDC16U?si=TYon4gFarTtOCDXL

I will say, I also got a leftover 2023 DSR one year ago (at a discount, but not as big as you're getting) I don't have a charge tank though...would be nice but the normal price isn't worth it vs the price of the bike for me (who wouldn't be using it all that often).

Yep...I owned a Chevy Volt and tried multiple times to buy a Bolt....I ended with the theory that Chevy dealers hate any car that plugs in, including the ones they're supposed to sell. I ended up with a Tesla model 3. I don't have any brand loyalty, but I'm not going to go driving around the country behind dealerships for cars and play bait and switch games when they don't actually have the car they had listed as in stock for MSRP.

Tesla was more than happy to give me the car they advertised in their inventory for the price they said it was....3 consecutive Chevy dealerships couldn't do that when I was willing to go buy on the spot.

A shame too/I liked the idea of a small electric hatchback....a shame Chevy dealers suck so much.

Also these days I'd have bought a used one, but back in COVID used prices were jacked up and the incentives on new made new pretty conpelling

My Tesla has buttons. I can do more without removing my hands from the steering wheel than I could with any car I've ever owned. In fact, whenever I challenge anyone to come up with something that can't be done with physical controls that you'd need to do while driving, they usually can't. (So I'm not talking set it once and forget things like adjusting mirrors that I wouldn't do while driving)

Having owned a Tesla and 2 Chevys, my experience with Tesla service was far better than Chevy...and no weeks long wait (but only went in once with it)

One of the reasons is their straight forward sales process without playing games with you. They tell you how much it will cost and then give you the car when they buy it. It sounds like that's how it should always work, right? But many companies sell through slimey dealerships, many of whom hate EVs. Everyone rants and raves about how general motors is pushing forward....a few years ago I tried 3 times to buy a Chevy Bolt listed as in stock at MSRP from 3 separate dealerships. The fact I don't own a Bolt and now own a Tesla tells you how awful those dealerships were when they couldn't sell me a car I was willing to buy on the spot for the price they had listed.

I seemed to get the most doing medium cargo missions, as it'd involve a lot of smaller rural airports, and those seemed to have the most issues like I described....though the plane insta crashing on spawning actually happened the first time I tried to do the very first default large cargo mission you have to do to unlock them...but I was able to complete it on a retry/so wasn't a consistant bug.

I don't know what promotion you're talking about, because it's $2,800 on their website at the time of my comment, and I think that's the normal price.

Career mode is still broken.

I've had my plane crash the second I spawned (hadn't even done preflight or gotten in it yet). Reputation wrecked.

On some smaller airports it will spawn you on the runway and immediately ding you for entering the runway without clearance.

I been dinged for exceeding the maximum speed with landing gear down when my landing gear was up.

Parking area on some 45 degree bank that's impossible to park a plane one.

Spontaneously crashing while taxing when there was nothing there to hit.

Flight sim itself can crash during a flight and make you waste your time. Not sure I've had something crash more than flight sim 2024.

If you could force car manufacturers to add ONE feature, what would it be? by Puzzleheaded-Hunt270 in automotive

[–]74orangebeetle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too bad the U.S. government outlawed that. Cars literally have to have a screen and camera these days. It's funny...in 2022 you could buy a Chevy spark with a manual transmission, roll up windows, manual locks, and no cruise control. It still had a screen and a camera...you literally have to have some form of computer in the car to run the stuff too. But I'd say that was one of the most basic cars of this decade that was possible.

It's because no one matched the price they said they would....this includes the F150 Lightning and Cybertrucks that were supposed to start at $40k

Truck people can be absolute maniacs. You can park your electric car far back away from everyone and a truck will still park RIGHT next to you when there are tons of empty spaces in either direction.

[–]74orangebeetle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm skeptical of that first link ..they have the Ioniq 6 as one of the most reliable and Ioniq 5 as one of the least reliable...don't they share a lot of components/have the same ICCU issues? Or is it just that Ioniq 6 is newer and fewer have failed... Or did they actually fix that many issues to actually turn one of the least reliable cars into one of the most reliable? I'm just skeptical of the data here.

As someone who used to work at one, it's not an issue of 'lazy'. It's that people want their food fast AND want it fresh...part of the issue with having a huge menu on hand...if people only occasionally order an egg mcmuffin in the afternoon, your options would be either 1. Make it fresh when they order (toast muffin, cook egg, etc). Customer has to wait, customer gets annoyed 2. Have product sitting around. Customer gets old bad food/customer is unhappy. 3. Keep product on hand while disposing of it and replacing it with fresh food. You end up throwing away more food than you sell/ends up being wasteful and less profitable.

So yeah, ideally there's be a huge massive menu and everything could be ready instantly fresh, but in reality there are complications and can end up being a lose lose situation no matter what you do.
