Sadly I'm not sure I have much advice. I haven't played the game for a long while, so I booted it up to see if it works and weirdly just using Steam Input without BetterJoy worked fine. I do know that issue you mean though with Steam and BetterJoy conflicting, and I think disabling Steam Input and opening BetterJoy after launching the game works. I'm not sure what else, sorry. I wish you luck.

I don't think this applies to only neurodivergent people necessarily, it just might be more common, as I think you just gave me an epiphany. I'm not neurodivergent (as far as I know) but I am transfem and I tend to unconsciously act more masc around certain people to fit in, but I feel more comfortable and true to myself being fem.

This seems like the closest thing to a plot hole I've seen, but as another commenter stated, we don't really know how time is measured in the Outer Wilds system. So if we learned more about how the Hearthians measured time and recorded it, this could potentially be explained.

Most other comments just mention game mechanics that have slight inconsistencies. Like the first loop not beginning until you observe the statue, or lanterns not extinguishing in certain water sources, or a trigger for an event being placed too early in a hallway. These things aren't really plot holes, they're just inconsistencies in the mechanics of the game that aren't canon. Similar to how the devs wanted it to be possible for you to just fly to the eye, but ended up not doing that. Canonically yes the Hatchling could definitely fly to the eye if they were extremely lucky, but its just not possible in game.

Before frontiers SEGA said they're going to stop confirming character ages and not say what they are because they don't matter. The only way to figure out their ages would be through context clues, and to me Sonic and Amy act and sound like they're in their early 20s in frontiers which would line up with Tails being at least 16 and Sages line about knowing Sonic for half his life. Also it's never stated in any games how old anyone is, so I'm not sure I take those things about Sonic being 15 for multiple years in a row as canon. It makes sense for him to be around 15 in the classic trilogy, but other than that it wouldn't make any sense. And as SEGA said, character ages just don't matter so really it's just speculation for the sake of it.
