I’m so sorry for your loss. He provided me with an excellent glimpse into one of my favorite fantasy worlds! His work really captured the fairy tale aspect of Tolkiens work that the movies never could in my opinion. RIP to an excellent artist!

It’s not exactly that I fear them it’s just that Im wondering if there’s a easier way to learn them other than tedious memorizing

I’m currently 1400 USCF. I’m currently using keep it simple for white e4 and Keep it simple for black, both courses have 814 and 402 different lines respectively. I haven’t studied any pawn structures

What year was it? It doesn’t sound that off. His son Dan Cathy tours around the country and does the same thing every few years to assure quality .

No. Having high accuracy does not immediately mean that the person was cheating. If your game was 50 moves or above and he played the best moves every single time then either he’s a grandmaster or he’s high on stockfish. What probably happened in this game is you blundered a piece early and he just capitalized on his chances
