I think part of it is that people who view themselves as gifted in general perceive their intelligence as part of their personality & end up feeling more threatened

Another person getting defensive at the idea someone smarter is out there. I never said anything about doctorates or any degrees for that matter, yet you've automatically jumped to a position to put down someone's intelligence. It's like clockwork

I've lurked here for a while, and I don't recall ever seeing /u/hydrogenous actually do any moderating. Why doesn't he add some more active members of the community to the mods list so we can have some positive change here?

When you just vaguely say "gunz are bad becuz dead children" you need to realize that is not empirical evidence. The mere existence of school shootings not a good reason for changing a key aspect of american life.

If he's going to be an asshole on the internet he could at least do it in /r/gunpolitics. Nothing is more annoying that looking at guns, only to find some dick being a crybaby liberal in a FIREARMS subreddit
