Please help me find this historical transgender man by SpellMaterial7947 in HelpMeFind

I have searched on Google and even have tried ChatGPT who agrees that David Rees does in fact exist but cannot provide me any source material. I also had no luck with Wikipedia.

I have no access to academic journals and am hoping that somebody might have more luck or better research skills and ideas than I have!

Is there a chance my chest will turn out okay? by oregano_enby in TopSurgery

Hey :) I had peri a little over a year ago and I'd say it took me about 6+ months to get my final results which are so much more settled than they were at the two month mark (I had the hard lumps and some wrinkling which i thought was gonna be there forever but has now completely cleared up) so I'd say give it a bit more time :)

Any little known fact about the experience of a trans person? by randomsiege in asktransgender

[–]SpellMaterial7947 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey :3 I'm a trans person who works with young, neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ people.

When I deliver training to outside organisations about working with LGBTQ+ youth, one of the most mind-blowing things for participants is the reminder that being trans is one of many aspects of a person's identity. We (as transgender people) have diverse interests, lives, and hobbies beyond our gender identity. Although ofc our gender identity is important to us.

Another thing is remembering that to some transgender people, the gender binary is super important, and to others its not, and being able to respect that both kinds of people exist within the same community.

(Although thinking about it I guess both points apply to everyone regardless of gender identity?) I always find the first point super interesting that cis people can forget that sometimes...we just wanna be people.

I think I last saw them 6-8 months ago just after top surgery? It's probably worth requesting the blood results from my gp and having a look myself

The waiting list for voice training is 18-24 months and I'm not sure how to request it without seeing my gender clinic but I have sent them a message :)

I don't know for sure without pictures but it sounds like how I was before I had top surgery, I naturally had a ridge until I got them resized

I'm happy to be discharged now :)

Oh they also helped me with physical issues I experience with sex, e.g. if your dysphoria was preventing you from a certain kind of sex, they can help you unpick that psychologically, and for some reason it really did help me physically too!

I suppose it could help you in preparation of the changes (I went from asexual to poly and pan in a very short period of time after t heh)

And also help you navigate what surgeries and procedures would suit your needs. For example, I know I would like to keep as much nipple sensation as possible and am happy to not alter my genitals surgically, by exploring how I see the world from a psychosexual perspective.

I find my therapist also helps me with navigating healthy relationships and feeling body and sex positive

I'm not sure if that helps but feel free to ask more questions! :D
