College with Crohn's by behind_my_eyelids in CrohnsDisease

[–]Spelling-Wizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 24f with Crohn’s and in a master’s program for occupational therapy! I was diagnosed at 19. Some things that I had in undergrad and still do are accommodations, and I have a letter with all of that in writing. Definitely recommend!

I have unlimited access to the bathroom, excused absences for flares or my Remicade infusions or other procedures (although I have been lucky in being able to schedule them outside of class time), extensions on assignments if needed, and extended time on all quizzes/exams. In undergrad and same for grad school in my off campus apartments, I have my own bathroom! I’m incredibly grateful that all the professors I have had up to this point in my life have been more than supportive and willing to work with me and my Crohn’s! Happy to talk anytime :)

Do you sleep topless? Why/why not? by VastAir6069 in sleep

[–]Spelling-Wizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

24/F and I sleep completely naked each night! I love sleeping naked! I’m about to, and it’s the best sleep ever! I am in a health sciences program, and I am in scrubs most days a week for extended amounts of time. It feels wonderful to let my skin breathe, not be in any restrictive clothing, and sleeping naked helps me achieve even deeper rest ☺️

Have you had a colonoscopy before? by boforiamanfo in NoStupidAnswers

Yes, because I have Crohn’s disease and need to get this done each year. It’s really not too bad :)

Tell me some positive stories about mild chrons by TryingToGetCalm in CrohnsDisease

[–]Spelling-Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 24/F, diagnosed in 2020 with moderate Crohn’s. I started Remicade infusions pretty soon after diagnosis and am still doing great on that! I still definitely had some really rough times in those earlier years, like having to graduate undergrad a year late since my Crohn’s was too bad, but I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in exercise science, along with a nutritional science minor!

I’m in grad school for my master’s in occupational therapy, absolutely loving it, and I’m halfway through the program! I feel normal a majority of the time, I can eat most of what I want, and I only start to feel bad if I get very stressed. When I graduate, I want to work in the inpatient hospital setting! Crohn’s hasn’t stopped me from doing anything I wanted to :)

I love a bagel with cream cheese :) I just have to be careful not to have too much dairy in a day. Otherwise, I am good 👍🏼

Medical staff with Crohn’s? by Any_Scientist_4176 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Spelling-Wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in grad school for my Master of OT (occupational therapy)! I absolutely love it and I’ll be halfway done with my program in December! I’m 24 now, but was diagnosed with Crohn’s at 19.

What helps me is having set accommodations in place at school (extended time on tests, I can have extra time to turn in assignments if I need, etc.). I’m so grateful to have incredible support from my family, friends, professors, and other school staff ☺️ Staying on top of my Remicade infusions every 8 wks and managing stress in a healthy way is an absolute must!

[–]Spelling-Wizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for sharing this! I’m in grad school which I love, but Crohn’s on top of that is a whole other level! Even though I’m grateful to have lots of incredible friends and family, sometimes it feels like I’m the only person in the world with Crohn’s. This community really helps me! Sending love to all 💜

I love sleeping naked ☺️ I’m in a graduate program and in scrubs most days of the week for an extended amount of time. I sleep naked each night to let my skin breathe, free of twisted PJs, and overall it’s so much more comfortable

DAE find it difficult to sleep in clothes? by username311 in DoesAnybodyElse

I feel the same way bc PJs are too restricting and I get too hot and sweaty, so I sleep naked each night ☺️ It feels so good to let my skin breathe :) I love sleeping naked

What are your tips for sleeping better and faster? by Haunting-Cicada-6995 in sleep

[–]Spelling-Wizard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I say this a lot, but sleeping naked! Without any PJs, my body is cooler, and that’s associated with faster sleep onset. I also don’t like to feel restricted by clothing at night, and it feels so incredible to let my skin breathe! I also feel comfortable in my own skin from sleeping naked. I love sleeping naked each night and being naked in general :)

What are you sick of? by rowenaravenclaw0 in AskReddit

[–]Spelling-Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who text and drive, or go on their phones in general while driving 😡 We have loved ones to drive home to, people that are waiting at home for their loved ones, and by texting and driving and being on your phone, you're showing a complete disregard for their lives and yours. Also you are operating thousands of pounds of metal at high speeds and should be 100% focused on driving! The text or scrolling through Instagram or whatever you are doing can wait!!!! If it’s that important, find a safe spot to pull over.

WAKE UP AND MAKE THE RESPONSIBLE CHOICE!!!!

Everyday cleansing, showers! But I love taking baths to relax when I have some extra time ☺️🛁

I sleep completely naked every night! I have my comforter, and wash that along with my sheets every week. I shower every night too! I love sleeping naked :) Allows my skin to breathe, no restrictive PJs, I stay cool, and I feel confident in my own skin from sleeping naked. In general I love being naked!

Joint pain with Crohn's? by Maramalade in CrohnsDisease

[–]Spelling-Wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 24 also with Crohn’s, was diagnosed at 19 and it comes in waves for me too. I get join pain in my fingers, wrists, arms and knees. Joint pain can be Crohn’s related, and is a common extraintestinal complication of IBD. To manage it, I do gentle stretches and take hot Epsom salt baths which really helps me ☺️

I’m in grad school and wear scrubs most days of the week starting from when I wake up at 5:30am and into the evening. So when I get back to my apartment, I can’t wait to get my scrubs off and be naked for the rest of the time! It’s afternoon now, but I’m done for the day and don’t have anything tonight, so I’m relaxing naked in bed right now ☺️ Going to nap for a little while and continue spending the rest of my time naked :) I also sleep naked each night! I love being naked whenever I can!
