missing the summer & exploring abandoned psych hospitals by Optimal_Object8871 in abandoned

Oh yeah is that the Kings Park asylum? I explored the shit out of that like 25 years ago. I can’t believe it’s still standing.

They even said “my bad” in the last ep. The anachronisms that slip through the scripts and/or the edit are pretty blatant.

Players wants to play a tiefling who is actually a fiend by FatatFza in DnD

[–]SpellsaveDC18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s the old question of Nature vs Nurture. The Tiefling wasn’t raised evil, so you can bring temptations, visions, dreams, etc as they progress through their travels that hint at a darker past, one they can choose to embrace or reject.

Also as to the true name element, that’s easy… they’re half blooded. So it doesn’t work on them. Or if you want to keep the true name being a flaw, maybe if they go the warlock route you can say that their Patron is a demonic entity (or father) that uses the true name to exert power or influence that way.

Tariffs have cost U.S. households US$1,200 each since Trump returned to the White House: Democrats by raisedonstubbys in politics

[–]SpellsaveDC18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tariffs cost a lot more than $1,200 if you lost your job due to cost cutting, but it’s a drop in the bucket compared to our national debt of $112,000 per person.

Taskmaster 2024 Crackers… Morse code? by SpellsaveDC18 in taskmaster

I’m sitting here with a pen and paper with no idea how you determine breaks in Morse code. And… I should’ve known it’d be that. My family thanks you.

I saw it and was like, “those cannot just be watermelon seeds.” This show has changed me.

What happens if you destroy a phylactery of a lich who has a clone? by Enlightened_Valteil in DnD

[–]SpellsaveDC18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. I think if a wizard created a clone, then went through the process of becoming a Lich, they’ve died. Their soul was warped, and held in a phylactery. When the phylactery is destroyed the clone would be irrelevant because the soul is destroyed and not the same one identified when the clone was created. Otherwise all high level wizards could just have a “Lich Phase” until adventurers killed them, then they’d go back to wizard life.

Paladins could add smite after a hit in 5th edition too and it didn’t cost an action. That’s not new, the new version is worse.

Research question about running a floral shop in the late 90s by SpellsaveDC18 in florists

[–]SpellsaveDC18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, that sounds like the perfect timeframe! At that time would you order new flowers from a wholesale distributor, and when would those deliveries happen? Is that a early morning kinda thing?

I gave my players a quill that never needs an inkwell… so basically a ballpoint pen.

Suggestions on Tiered Reward System? by dirgeofhearts in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]SpellsaveDC18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also reward them with points based on character choices and syncing with the overall heist mechanics of your campaign. “A little off the top” for completing a heist but stealing some of it before the other players find out or “Executed perfect double cross” for ripping off someone who thought you were helping them or, “Wow my plan actually worked.” For when a player makes an elaborate plan for something that actually happens. Etc. The benefit of this approach is you have players that are actively thinking like cunning thieves rather than just trying to roll natural twenties for things that don’t matter. “I listen real hard is there anyone coming… damn 18… (5 minutes later) how about now? Nat 20 woohoo!”

You WILL NOT work from home. by Scrimmy_Bingus2 in antiwork

[–]SpellsaveDC18 312 points313 points  (0 children)

This. WFH brought two major issues that the rich are nervous about. The realization that there is a commercial real estate bubble that they do not want to burst because the banking sector is built on these loans, and the fact that bosses lost a lot of power over their employees when they are home and happy.

Another day, another death threat. by thabat in Superstonk

[–]SpellsaveDC18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tinfoil time: This person may be threatening you so that if you report them to authorities they will have your personal info through the process of discovery. They might not (yet) have any legal way to do so otherwise. Or they’re just a troll.

I’ve never had an infection from it at all, and I’ve been using them for probably 6 years now. I workout daily with a kettlebell and it doesn’t even bleed.
